Good review of the WP V EP Reserves game on the WPFC Site. There doing a great job on the Website and from what I have seen of the other they are doing their best to keep the MEMBERS in touch with all the news..

Full article at

www.westperthfc.com.au/latest-news/reser...review-v-east-perth/

In part

West Perth and East Perth's reserves have met three times during the season with the Royals winning by two points at Arena Joondalup in Round 1, the Falcons winning by nine points at Leederville's Medibank Stadium on Foundation Day and then West Perth scoring a thumping 44-poitn win in Round 19 at Arena Joondalup.

The West Perth reserves team looks likely to also be boosted by key senior veteran defenders Michael Pettigrew and Luke Tedesco.

Pettigrew badly tore his hamstring in Round 19 but has recovered well and is likely to try playing in the reserves on Sunday morning. Tedesco injured his calf in Round 21 and is also likely to give playing ago again in the reserves semi-final as well.

The team is also likely to still have Matt Johnson and Laine Rasmussen, who both have played strong league football in 2013 after the pair both returned from injury layoffs last week against Swan Districts.

The Falcons' reserves side also includes Max Alexander, James Batterham, Johnson, Ben McNamara, Luke Meadows, Pettigrew and Tedesco who have played league football in 2013 while Cameron Branch, James Embley, Michael Mascoulis and Drew Rohde have previously.

Jack Thrum, Aidan Lynch, Embley, Joel Latham and McNamara have all been outstanding ball winners in the reserves this season while Frank Stockley has dominated the ruck averaging 16 possessions and 34 hit outs to go with his 15 goals in 15 matches.

Mitchell McPhee is the leading reserves goalkicker with 30 from 19 games with Rohde adding 28 from 20.

Heres a few more of the unsung heroes of this season.. Have covered most previously and a couple have no pics up on WP site..

You guys are a bunch of legends and win/lose or draw be PROUD of your season. Sure you have learnt a lot from the man who knows a lot Paul Sanzone (he even taught me things :) ) It has certainly show you if you have enough faith in yourselves and play as a team you can achieve anything. ALL THE BEST IN YOUR FUTURES AT THE WPFC.

Aiden Lynch - shit I am up for a carton if WP win this... Gladly

Samuel Money

James Batterham

Jack Thrum

Corey Chalmers

Mitchell Van Berlo

Cardy, you guys will need to get a good start against the Tigers on Sunday. In the game that Swans won at Claremont in mid season, we got them under the pump early and they were playing catch up footy all day. Also if the Falcons start well, the supporters will start making some noise as there will be far more of you there than Claremont fans.

From what I saw at Bassendean last week, West Perth have a good defence, but their midfield need to support them more, chase and harass Claremont all day and more than anything don't give them any space.

Claremont is a small ground so if the quicker Falcons players are prepared to run hard, they may be able to prevent the Tigers from playing their team game.

Blackwell will always get 25 plus possessions but his effectiveness can be limited by pressuring the other players that he brings into the game. Also Kuenan will have to at least give Seaby and Andrews a contest to give the West Perth mids a chance. They definitely need to be more efficient in front of goals than they were last week.

I don't think some critics are giving West Perth the credit for their very consistent season and I give you guys a real chance of upsetting them. It all depends if they have a belief in the group that they can do it.
Good luck!

Mikeh your posts are always well thought out and make sense Thanks for your input and the chance to reply.. I just replied to a post of yours on EF thread..Agree our forward line is not that effective. Fowler is a day to day player and not reliable (Sorry Chook) we are certainly going to miss Slick who is out for season as he provided a good target, Was good in the air and fast on the ground.

Maybe Stryker will have to come forward as he is effective and can kick goals small that he is.

Claremont oval has seen me go away very disappointed many times and I am convinced it is a Hoodoo Ground. As you say though it is certainly a small ground and I think our players find it hard to adjust.

We must hit the ground running which we seldom do and we seem to take time to adjust. Especially at Claremont :(
I dont know what happens at Half time but the 3rd qtr always seems to be our worst qtr and a few games have been lost in that qtr? Not a fitness problem I am sure but that half time break kills us.

Looking at our lineup there is no reason why we cant take it up to Claremont one on one.. We just have to get numbers to the ball and support our teammates. (sometimes lacking). Handovers of late have been horrendous v Swans I saw Razor kick directly to a Swans player even when not under pressure at least 3/4 times.. Unusual.. Every one has a bad day.

Forget about the Swans game I walked away happy with our effort and thought we gave it away when we missed easy shots and had a few unlucky decisions made against us. It was a dead rubber for us and the only thing that disappointed me is we let EF down.

Hopefully Bill has done his homework and we will have all our bases covered if not we will get another chance against EP or Swans. I suspect it will be EP so I would rather see us go straight into the finals :)

Looking forward to a great final series and Finishing 2nd has give us WP Fans a chance to see a couple more games. Win/Lose or draw it has been a great season.

Shit I thought you were talking about money at first as the WAFC has taken the prize money away..
Would be a great crowd but without being negative I reckon a WP v EP final would drag in a few as well. All the Eagles supporters would turn up. ;)
CLA would be a waste of time and just a few would attend.

SD do have a large following so Ok that would be good and I am sure WP would love it as well because WE WOULD WIN

Just for those who couldnt work out what I meant by the Money in the post above it is not actually Prize money but money towards the clubs for the finals. The WAFL has made a few cutbacks due to them running at a loss last year!!

quote

Clubs will no longer receive the finals allowance that was introduced in 2006, when semi and preliminary finals were moved from Subiaco Oval because of the prohibitive costs involved in staging WAFL matches there.

The finals allowance is about $56,000 - or $7000 for each team per finals match.

The decision to cut the allowance means that the team that plays three finals this season will have to find at least an extra $20,000 to pay its players - or nearly 10 per cent of its annual salary cap.

If west Perth have so many supporters I hope they can walk the walk and turn up 2Moro, I for one will be very surprised if there is more red and blue than blue and yellow.

Yep agree. A few will come out of the woodwork I think. The bigger crowd will definitely be at SD V EP. Lets hope we get a decent crowd. Weather looks ok for Footy and No WA AFL game on.. Sunday as well. SF should have a few there for the Colts game and being before the League final a few of them should stay.
Not sure many EP supporters will attend for the Reserves final being at 0905 and their league playing at Bassendean?

I am looking forward to it even though will have to hit the road early to get to the ressies.
