Former Docker and 248-game AFL veteran Chris Mayne has agreed to join the WAFL side’s coaching staff as a Skills Specialist and Development Coach under Todd Curley.

Chris stated he had ambitions to coach when he retired so he might see an opportunity at Souths to succeed Curley. German is locked in for the long haul at Perth.

Good on him, the lad deserves it. Terrific footballer, leader, bloke. I wish him every success at which ever club he's at because I've got no doubt he has the attributes to be a successful senior coach.

Same to all you Demons. Are we satisfied with our Xmas stocking this year? Would be pretty hard to complain. Disappointed to lose Oscar and Connor McPartland it looks like at this stage isn't returning due to concussion.

That's a couple we've lost to concussion. Hope those players don't suffer any long term symptoms.

Normally our wish list is 2 x gun midfielders, a key forward, a small forward, a key backman and a top ruckman. The club ticked every box this off season. Not sure Joshua Edwards in the top ruckman bracket but hopefully he can hold his own and not get dominated.

Barwick, Bird, Sears and Zolnier-Owens have dropped off the main list
