Top Five Please:

Sumich
Nowotney
Langdon
Adamson
Dean

Sumich started out at CHF and it where he should have played
Nowotney won three flags playing in the hardest position.
Langdon -- punched above his weight in a hard position
Adamson -- injurred a lot, had talent, WP's only key forward
Dean -- good long kick and a good mark for his weight

Apologies to Sewell and Campbell.

Was reading a bit about Warren Dean.A player forgotten who disappeared from footy altogether in the late 1980's.
Played for Subiaco in 1984-85-86.Came through there Colts system. So was at the club for at least 5 years.Played for WA in 1986 and in 1988 in the Bicentennial Carnival. All state games where played in Adelaide.
Not sure why he was overlooked by the Eagles original squad in 87.Was there a cap on the amount of players recruited from each Wafl club.
Played 32 games for Melbourne 1987-89.Best remembered for his 1987 finals appearances. Stared in Melbournes big wins in the elimination and first semi finals wins.Against North Melbourne and Sydney. And also in the preliminary final. When Jim Stynes ran over the mark on the final siren.Gary Buckinara got 15m penalty and won the match for the Hawks.
Then WD just disappeared from footy and altogether in 1989.Suffering from injuries and has no footy history post 1989.Sadly we didn't see the best of Warren Dean.Had one of the best kicks I've ever seen.May of been to lightly framed for VFL\àFL key position player.

this one is somewhat difficult to be definitive in WA footy
and that is mainly due to the fact that the pill was actually kicked long to position and the position was 99% targeted to the full forward who was usually out on a lead
so the centre half forward was looking at the sky quite a bit
Brian Adamson , Jimmy Sewell , Ross Ditchburn , Earl Spalding & Joe McKay (when he switched here in cameos) are a few who modified their position to great effect

Injured his knee at Melbourne and was poorly
managed, so much so was forced to play when knee was not ready and destroyed it. Then bumped off the list. Attempted a comeback at Subi which did not work. For a long time owned and operated the Carbanup roadhouse at Vasse, I believe recently sold it.

Retired young around 25 years old from the VFL.Didn't know he went back to Subi.Sad we didn't see the best of him.

Wasn't he the son of one of the Deans that played for Subi in the 1960s? I remember him sealing a game for S. with a mighty torpedo at Bassendean one day in 1985 or 1986.

Ark, typically good discussion topic, but I think Stan Nowotny would be humbled to be included in that list of outstanding CHFs.
