Was it the lavishness catering for match day lunches, the bar bill what is it!

The skinny I have suggests it was what we all accuse Subi of doing, player payments with the difference being WP don't have the subi slush fund so they were living well and truly beyond their means.

The reason for asking is that depending on the real, actual and truthful reason will effect my view of what needs to the next steps taken!

That's exactly the question I was asking 2 days ago Grump and was hoping last nights meeting would shed some light...but I still haven't seen or heard exactly how it was spent and what the debt was accumulated on. The ATO and VW bills are pretty straight forward but what about the rest?

BC not sure how you could reckon a tax bill is straight forward (unless I have not picked up on something) I would have thought that it would be the first thing you pay. I have never run a business but have run an office with a budget and 100 staff, they got paid and the office ran ok, customers not always happy but ....... the point is that I never ran over my budget and could always meet the dreaded efficiency dividend imposed by political masters, running a football club is the same, live within your means and adjust to the demands of your area.

Because it's likely the ATO would have issued an assessment so the debt would have been laid out in that...like Bazza I'm mystified as to what the ATO debt is for and can only think it must be unremitted GST or similar but at least it's out there. It's the other undocumented or off the books debts that I'm curious about.

right at this moment they are worth $250,000.00 to the West Perth Football Club Inc. Because that is what they have extended to them to keep them playing for the rest of the season.

I would want threepence back after paying tuppence ha'penny.

The very minimum price for each licence should be 250 million dollars.

Yep, agree must be unremitted GST, 3 years worth or so, sounds like they just thought they would keep going not paying people until someone said pay up.

UHTB is obviously more connected then he/she care to divulge. I have heard that rumour too. I cannot believe that there has not been more comments about this. TALK ABOUT A SLEEPING GIANT. There is a growling behemoth called community football that has been underrepresented for decades, and it isn't exclusive to West Perth.

Of the hundreds of posts on this topic not 1 of you have the financial ability to resolve this disaster. i am sure you would if you could.

Did you know that the estimated reserves of the West Perth District Junior clubs alone is in the vicinity of 2m dollars. Just think about that for a moment. The Amateur clubs probably have additional reserves of another 2-5 hundred k. They dont get any funding from above (WAFC,AFL, WPFC) and are all SELF FUNDED. Not sure about country football but i am sure they are solvent as well.

UHTB might be on to something we may all be missing.

On another tangent i reckon the WAFC are a bit smarter then some of you have suggested. They might have the ability to provide more short term support to WPFC but why would they. It makes perfect business sense to negotiate a outcome whereby they can control a club that clearly hasnt played ball with the WAFC. Remember the channel 9 disagreements. Remember Brett Raponis F*4k you to the WAFC when he was on more interviews then Oprah. From a business standpoint the traditional and emotional arguments, as truthfully and honest as they are, they count for little. Its the perfect time for the WAFC TO ADVANCE ITS WAFL reform agenda, whatever it may be, dont underestimate Murray MCHenry the WAFC Board or Gavin Taylor they are playing the game and realistically dont appear to have much to lose.

ATO Venues West plus..
Other money -
There's a heap owed to ISC - Sports Wear , players jumpers etc, not paid.
Then there are people like (John) $ 20,000 owed for supplies catering etc..

Yep a new entity like a take over of WPFC by Kingsley , rebranded the Joondalup Falcons could be a real goer.,

interesting...I wonder how much of it didn't go through the books? and was that so they could appear to be solvent to auditors?

Turned out to be Brett Rentaquote.

I think people are coming around to my way of thinking - this has been a long time coming and WP will get exactly what they deserve. I for one am excited to hear a club might be able to step in to fill the breach driven by local junior clubs. The Northern Suburbs Knights. Good on em.

They have had lowest on the books spend on footy for years but keep on achieving good results.
