Chaddy I did not know that about the Adelaide SANFL side that they always play away. I like that idea if the Eagles do have their own side that it would give the other WAFL clubs an extra home game and an extra chance at revenue through gates, tickets, food and alcohol.

Sorry you are correct - but only one bye. Besides this what did you think about the two different comps
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

or conversely a WCE reserves side could play at Lathlain on the weekends Perth plays away and make a few extra $ for the Dees over the bar etc.

That would be great to have another nine games at Lathlain a year, with the extra revenue it would create.

However to make it fairer and as an incentive for the other WAFL clubs in allowing the Eagles to have their own team I think if you say to clubs while it would still be an 18 game season you can have your 10 home games back, like it was last year, then this would be the more likely solution.

It's got potential. However what is the purpose of the other competition other than to separate the WAFL teams from the AFL sides?

Given the subterfuge methodologies of the West Coast Methamphetameagles over the years , I'd be highly surprised if the slimy bastards haven't already made clandestine enquiries at Lathlain Park as to the PFC's interest in taking up an alignment position.
Further to this if I was a PFC member I'd be highly alert at this point of time given the constitution vote that has been postponed recently (as highlighted by a posting member of this site in the last 2 weeks)
This so-called statement of a "preferred position" to field a stand alone side in the WAFL has me thinking there's another surprise on the way - "preferred" is vastly different to confirmed

Well you might as well just not play for points then, rather than have two ladders.

MrAFL let's not fall for that furphy regarding crowds. Prior to the introduction of the Eagles it was stated that there would only be a drop of around 30% from memory. The drop in crowds was significantly more than the 30%.

Then we had the assertion with the host club alignment that the members o the two WA domiciled AFL teams would flock to watch the aligned WAFL club. Demonstrably has not happened.

So rest assured any assertion that a stand alone team will have crowds flocking to watch is SIMPLY NOT GOING TO BE TRUE.

Maybe they could go play in the VFL and the WAFL can retain some integrity

Wafl clubs need money not integrity.Integrity won't save them.

What the WAFL needs is to replace Gavin Taylor and the WAFC with people who actually care about the WAFL and make decisions that will ensure the viability and integrity of the WAFL.
