Ark we won easily in the first match by 34 points and the second match by 21 points. The next match could have gone either way with 2 points in it.

However in the 2nd Semi we won by three goals and my memory of that match was that it could easily have been much more! Hence the false sense of optimism and self belief and of course pain afterwards of the highest order!.

I think the first ever game at joondalup has to mentioned here as well. 15000 jammed into arena, and probably about 1000 watching through the fence. I do remember quite clearly the roar when west perth ran onto joondalup for the first time ever absolute hair on the back of your neck sort of stuff.
