2 good wins by WA today at Leederville Oval.
Firstly the WA 16s came from 19 points down with less than 5 minutes remaining to beat SA by a goal.
Secondly the WA 18s had a comfortable in the end 40 point win against the Allies although they did get within a goal or so in the 3rd qtr.

WA finishes off their carnival with a 29 point win vs Vic Country.
3 wins & 1 loss (to Vic Metro).
Gee Ian Hill is an excitement machine.

Yep, he's great to watch is Ian Hill. I thought WA had control of that game and showed better foot skills than VCC.

Not a bad effort from a colts system that's supposed to be busted arsed and in desperate need of an AFL (take)makeover

Great win by the WA boys...well done to Suma and all the WA team.....touch wood the success continues next year and the years after dazzler....would like WA to have consistent success like the Vic boys do each year.

Hill dominated the 16's last year....good to see him continue with his development....would hate to see him follow the path of Clem Smith and other youngsters...no doubt the help of his cousins will help him deal with all the up coming media focus....can be tough for these youngsters under the spotlight....just reckon elevating the draft age will see less kids like Eades,Smith etc get chewed so young.....

She didn't exactly say from Whom or Where they were from.

Was she reading from a WAFC script in attacking critics from within WA?

I am sure it was mentioned somewhere that this will be a weak draft from a W.A. perspective.Just because we have done well in the under 18's doesn't mean we will have a lot of players drafted.Remember 10 years ago when East perth colts beat the Claremont colts in the grand final only two East Perth boys drafted (leunberger and moss) wheras the tigers got 7.Even playing well in the under 18's championship doesn't always translate into being drafted.

Add in that some of the potential draftees are not eligible to be drafted this year anyway. Was it last year that SA were the dominant 18s side but had fewer drafted than WA?
Well done to all of the development coaches and staff who have worked with these kids across the journey to WA 18s. Congratulations to Sumich and staff in the current WA 18s set up.

Had to laugh when the commentators were lavishing praise on Sumich and Co for getting the WA boys to play good team footy! Seems to go against the Player First mantra the WAFC are spewing out every opportunity

Well done to the WA boys- great campaign

I got the comments from a few AFL boys that Sumich must be a good coach because they didn't expect WA to win a game. They got smashed in the 16s 2 years ago so the progression has been huge.

Sumich mentioned todayon 6pr that it was the Eastern staters who thought our side was weak on paper but also mentioned that with team doing so well that several players may have put their hands up to be drafted or rookied.
