With the players we have running around right now, we can do it again.

But first, EP needs to stand alone and get their supporters back and WCE need to play as the 10th side.

Only way.

That was before alignment , but even before that H and A crowds were on the slide.

Clearly, part of it is cyclical, thus the poor showing in 2003.

Give East Perth back their club and that will help greatly.

I want the alignment gone, and Peel as well, but it wont happen now.

I must be seeing things then as I would have categorically sworn the crowds have been well and truly much better than last year and I have seen all 6 SD games plus 4 as a neutral when we were not playing on the same day!
Anyone else who actually attends games regularly have a similar opinion or other?

Minus 8½ % behind at the corresponding time from last season. Which is worrying!
The next three weeks (before the mid season break) has some really good matches coming up. Lets hope the next 3 weeks sees more people attending. In the second half of the season, the spots in the top portion of the team rankings hots up. And hopefully more people start watching Wafl matches and bigger crowds than last season can be achieved.

Sadly that's the way it is, so much damage has been done as a result of last years finals season...I doubt it can recover quickly, as you say with perfect weather up to week 7 attendances are shockingly poor with the exception of the 3000 odd at the derby even that was 500 - 1000 down tbh.

The Anzac Day Derby was only down by 60 when compared to 2016 but EF will need to lift their performance if we are to get close to the 5012 who attended the 2016 Foundation Day Derby at Fremantle

LH your spot on and I think that's what will happen. EP are now very financial and I'm sure they know they have pushed their supporter base to the brink. Tom Percy will be able to apply enough pressure on the rest of the EP board to at least get a members vote on the continuation or not of the alignment. It's a no brainer that WC create their own WAFL team, it's working fine over in SA with the Crows SANFL team and the Power using the Magies for their SANFL team. 10 team comp no byes, keep the 20 game season by having the 2 extra games as "traditional foes" games ie freo & perth derbies, eastern suburbs showdown with SD v Pth, cat fight with SU v CL and the who cares cup with WC & peelmantle... simples!!

SS two points to make. I don't see why we should not go back to where the players are distributed throughout the WAFL clubs. The second point is you are ignoring the recommendation that the WAFL competition goes down to either 16 or matches for each club.

One can only go on the "official" attendance figures as provided by the clubs and published on the WAFL website.

Currently the 'average' attendance is better than for the 2016, 2003 and 2002 seasons and with some good fixtures, good weather and some publicity we can hopefully attract some good crowds this weekend.

Subiaco v Swan Districts with a top 2 position at stake should draw a crowd well in excess of 2000.
East Fremantle v West Perth - always a good encounter
Claremont v Peel at Fremantle Oval - should be a tight contest
Perth v South Fremantle - with Perth on the improve

Bring a mate and watch some great WAFL games this weekend!!

I would expect a crowd at Basso of between 1,627 and 1,877.

Out of interest how many games have you attended this year WAG?
I have seen every SD game plus a few as a neutral I can categorically tell you the crowds have been far bigger this year than last regardless of what appears as the 'official attendance figure'!

Haven't been to any BH. Don't get across to the city much nowadays. And work on the odd weekend. I too have wondered of the official figures at times. I guess they are the only ones we have to go by? We are currently a third of the way into the season. There is still time for an improvement and to catch up. Have some big games in the next several rounds coming up that should get people through the turnstiles.

Yep Fair enough, your right it was a good crowd, and yep 5K plus need EF to improve or it will be well down.

Attended my first WAFL game for the year at Bassendean on Saturday thought it was a great game very high standard from both sides and good crowd there will be definitely going back there this year.
Have to agree with Seagull time looks right for Eagles to have their own side in as Crows do topped up by u23 amateurs or they take over the Demons.
