The poor crowd at the dockers v eagles res game looked crap on TV.

Dare I say it, but I miss their boisterous noisy supporters.

Give West Coast their own side, topped up by amateur players.

This combined Amateur colts squad which draws from all the WAAFL colts teams could play as a regular colts team on the West Coast WAFL match day so as to avoid the bye and perhaps even find a few gems.

Limit of 2 players maximum from each of the 55 competing WAAFL colts teams so as not to affect their playing stocks too much

LaH could you please explain why we should the sate the voracious appetite of the two WA domiciled AFL teams?

They always top up their little babies numbers up while downgrading the real WAFL clubs official figures mate...take last weeks attendance figures for an example!

re: TOTAL 4546
For 3 games of football, that total being an embarrassment.

The "so called" commission saying the alignments were going to be good because they would attract more Wafl interest and game attendances would increase. :silly:

Just had a look and fairly certain the 4546 figure is the lowest attendance for a Week 7 fixture for more than 10 years.
Wondering what the lowest crowd figure for a week 7 fixture would be?
Or is this the lowest?
Just askin'

The average crowd of 1515 is not quite the lowest round 7 average. 2001 with 1152 average over 4 games is far worse.

You can view attendance records from my home page, select Rounds > (Select Round No) > Attendances - scroll down or click Seasons to get a run down of aggregate and average for each season, then click the header of each column to sort - note: I don't have attendance records in much depth before WW2 - or you can click this link for round 7 attendance records ...

Yep I seem to recall the attendances where particularly bad around 2001.

I reckon we are in for even tougher times, I think the State is in a really bad was economically, I cant remember a bigger turn down in decades, unemployement will continue to rise and pays are frozen or dropping , peoples houses are dropping in value, we now have the second lowest property values in the country , only Hobart is lower and they are rising ours are falling..and a big round of govt job cuts are coming.

I reckon a lot of people just cant afford to take the family to wafl or even spend the day there themselves, so it could be tough times ahead.

A more worrying sign is we are tracking to have the lowest attendance figures since WW2, with avg crowd of 1747. In 2016, the lowest complete season since WW2, the avg was 1889 - with lots of extremely wet days. With the beautiful weather this year in comparison to last year, things aren't looking too rosy
