That's the point Arkroyal the alignment ended before the start of the 2002 season started.Players were redistributed.Eagles players were shared between Subi,East Perth,West perth and Swans.Munro played in our 2000,2001 premierships and then in 2002 was shifted to swans and David Haynes who also played in the 2000 and 2001 premierships got moved to Subi with Josh Wooden.Yes Micale was still coach and on West coasts books but the host club got axed pretty close to the start of the season. We would have been playing 16-18 who were not on the eagles list every week including the GF.We had four in the GF Humm,Buszan,Prior and Tuckey who I think was injured and gone well before half time.Trying to compare the 1999-2001 period with what is happening now is like trying to compare a Ferrari with a mini moke.they are both cars but very different. As for Peel the stars have aligned with the dockers not playing finals and with the exception of how Harley balic got qualified they are fortunate that the mix of players give them a chance.

We were allowed to do recruiting and we did get some good players to come over from other wafl clubs or interstate and they got games as we didn't have a team stacked with 14 eagles. Some of the players were Troy Wilson,Paul Symmons,Dean Brennan,Russell Thompson,Caine Hayes,Brent Cowell,Shaun Baxter.IT was a pretty stable side.Under the current alignment you have too many players going in and out and too many who are not quite up to it. virtually allowed no recruiting.

We made the finals only because it was a top 5 and some of the teams down the bottom were so poor. Next year the wafl should have a top 9 so Perth and Swans can be involved.

No point having Swans play finals, they don't pull a crowd anymore. Dropped off in droves looking at crowd figures

Traditional WAFL supporters should want to see as many as the 7 wafl clubs play finals as possible.
Not sure why we want afl reserves teams in the finals, only the west and ch7 enjoy that as they can show their interest.

Ch7 and the West would have preferred EP Eagles in the grand final I'm sure with their logos emblazoned all over the East Perth jumpers. Funny that. The Eagles has always been CH7 Perth's love child.

Channel 9 should hand out thousands of free T shirts and caps before the game. Lol

What a silly comment. In case you hadn't noticed WAFL crowds in general this year are at their lowest level since world war 2. This means every club has taken a hit.
