agree with what you say mike...the competition needs to go back to being cyclical where every team pretty much has a period of success then a few years of rebuilding. I'm the first to admit the dominance of my club over the last 12 or so years has been detrimental to the overall viability of the WAFL so a plan to make the competition a more even playing field is desperately needed...and agree, it starts with financial equality...but the clubs need to improve as well. IMO there is something intrinsically wrong with a club like Perth which hasn't tasted success for 40 years..that tells me there's a structural problem in addition to all the other things you've mentioned. So clubs need to get better and more professional as all the money in the world won't necessarily bring success if it's not used properly.

Pretty much on the same page mikeh.

Need to make the best fist of things as we can and I think that must mean major changes to keep some semblance of what once was and allow it to grow and appeal to fans and families to come along again.

Yesterday I think was one of darkest days in WA Footy for mine and the most miserable at Freo Oval I can remember in a long time, the SFFC members were mighty pissed off and for good reason , it was great to see the solidary of the true followers of local footy outraged by the pathetic and sickening manipulation of the joke that is the Dockers and Peel, how much more damage can this purple monster do to grass roots Freo footy, I am sure it wont be happy until the last vestige is wiped from the scene , to see the Victorian cohorts of the dockers Lyon and Co there sniggering away in delight as there puppets won was quite sickening.
