On my way home from Bassendean I tuned into 91.3 fm to find out the derby scores( as I couldn't get WAFL online on my phone all afternoon  )
Tony Micale was one of the commentators at the West Perth v East Perth game and during his summary he expressed his frustration at the contrast between the falcons and the royals club culture. His view was that East Perths history and tradition was being lost and there were not enough players prepared to "bleed blue and black" when a game was on the line ( then again why would Lewis Jetta and Jamie Bennell bleed blue and black}. He was also saying that in the last quarter when East Perth needed to take a few risks to try and win the game they reverted to a boring defensive game akin to what Peel have done in some games where AFL selection becomes more important than winning a game of footy.

None of this is news to any of us of course, we know what is happening to our oompetition, but I thought it was interesting that a well respected ex coach of East Perth who has also had links with the Eagles admitting that this alignment model is ripping the heart and soul out of a club he loves.

That will teach them for selling their soul to an AFL club who really don't give a chit about the "blue & black", that team is full of individuals who have no passion for the jumper they are wearing.

To late now anyway to be talking about this, the damage is irreversible.

Mate I can guarantee that Lewis would not be playing as badly as he is if he were at Swans where his heart is!! Its like A.Hams who said he felt sick at the prospect of wearing the blue and black jumper. Bennell will be back at SD next yeat too as he is a cert to be delisted I reckon..cant wait for 2016! With all the ex AFL SD players set to return amongst other high profile recruits next season cant come quick enough!

And on Micale, I didn't hear him complaining during their tainted flag era early last decade! But he is on the money anyway
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Spot on SD, Micale can suck balls, he thought it was the best thing since sliced bread when he was in charge of the Ferals for the tainted three peat, he fucked up at SF with the Dockers alignment thanks to the mighty Falcons of "99" :)

Great comments from Micale, stating the obvious of course but he will get listened to.

He's a bit like a retired politition, they can only speak their mind and tell the truth when they are outside the system. When at Eas Purf he was inside and therefore muzzled.

Micales comments have a element of truth.unfortunately without Lee,Moss,Wullff and Anderson not playing at the moment we have a lack of leadership and experience. In regard to Jetta He seems disinterested and not showing enough passion at west coast and now it is our problem. As for Bennell he didn't let the league team down because he was playing ressies.Only had twelve touches but having 18 committed east perth reserves players meant they could cover for him and have a good win. He has played some good games for us in the past but has been very poor this year. Definitely a chance for delisting. A chance to join a committed murray newman at the swannies next year.

SS he liked winning with a team that was just going to do the job, frankly I have little or no time for him as a man or coach, also wait for the look at me comments with the 18's (as with Lockyer). Everyone knew in the colts world that this will be a good year and probably next and it has nothing to do with the two previously mentioned ....... !

As I understand it from a third hand source who heard it from a cleaning lady at the Broken Hill, the relegation of players was down to attitude and not acceptable efforts, not much you can do about it when the passion just doesn't come from above!
