Freo to take over Mandurah full time.
Eagles to form new club in Joondalup with draft concessions from all 8 traditional WAFL teams
WP back to Leederville

This would see an AFL presence in the peripheries of the City. Their charter will be to build the game while playing their AFL 2nd tier players.
Mandurah Dockers /Joondalup Eagles - wearing Docker and Eagles jumpers and singing their song.

This would see the traditional 8 playing against the other 7 twice for a 14 game home and away with finals.
They would concurrently also play the AFL teams twice for a further 4 games in a completely different comp - Called the BHP cup or what ever.

10 Million spent on Leederville to entice WP back there.
Subi back to Subi - money for same from sale of surrounding land.

$500K to each WAFL team each year (As G says). Every Joondy Eagles and Mandurah Dockers game on Eagle and Docker TV. One game a week of the WAFL on 7mate. All WAFL finals.

When AFL introduces reserve teams These aligned teams would then become teams in their own right and the WAFL would convert to a 10 team comp. Playing the Mandurah Rays and the Joondalup Bears.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

All that sounds fine TFaF.
Something many have not thought of- is I wonder what happens with the entity formally known as east perth? When big business pulls out of there, they'll have no coach, no staff or players left! What happens then? Will too much money need to be spent building East Perth again? If the so called east perth folds completely, it still leaves a nine team uneven comp. If too much money needs spending rebuilding and establishing the old East Perth, would it be worth doing so? How much money would be needed to re-staff and entice players back there? Would players wish to go back after the current shambles? Can the so called football commission ever be trusted again?
Just a couple of thoughts whilst thinking aloud.

East Eagles have reported 2 years of very good profits but that's on the back of not having to pay for 3/4 of their league team, few or none of their coaching/medical/support staff so once the alignment finishes at the end of '18? they will have to find all that extra money. Where will that come from. I think their only choice is to bend over and take a permanent alignment with WC, they wont survive without it now. I hope I'm wrong and the real EP can surface after the alignment, especially if WC choose to absorb the PFC when they move to Lathlain. As much as the PFC and it's supporters will fight it, the WAFC and Eagles will apply what ever measures and pressure that is required should they want that outcome.

Peel to become Mandurah dockers.
Perth to become Perth Eagles
2 clubs to merge
Shorter season
Fewer venues
SUBI oval will be a block of flats.

re: Perth to become Perth Eagles
As much as I hate to say, the Perth footy club Prez is rubbing his hands with glee in anticipation of doing so. I feel the Perth supporters pain!
re: Shorter season
This already being in the pipeline (possibly happening next season?) The telecaster not wanting a 3 round, 23 week qualifying season. The Wafl will either start much later or finish earlier than currently stands.

The state government is trying hard.

Yep all these things are in motion, anyone who says otherwise is a deluded denialist.

merged clubs could be sf and ef maybe ep and perth give the merger about 10 yrs to happen but on the way, other stuff is on the way earlier.

The clubs would be :

SF and EF merged - Freo rivalry is dead, form one superclub team called Fremantle

Perth and East Perth merged, EP shot themselves in the foot, Perth basket case for 4 decades

Swans - biggest following must be stand alone, owns the Eastern Corridor

West Perth - next biggest following must be stand alone, owns Northern corridor

$ubi - Cashed up for eternity will survive nuclear holocaust

Claremont - No fans left but enjoy the fruits of the silverspoon, private school footy belt for players, and some wealthy supporters

Peelmantle - Don't know if this will last or they will relocate and call themselves the Cockburn Cougars or something.

I none of the suggestions on this thread happens, but its ominous that something will

Unfortunately the AFL maggots have registered the Freo nameplate as a trademark so that cannot be used in any form under the Australian Rules banner
The WCE excrement found that out back in 1986 when they tried to slither under the Perth FC & name themselves the Perth Eagles
