fair enough growler, I gotta say I've barely seen him play a game as I'm not a west Perth supporter obviously.
yeah swan42, crazy isn't it, the best under 18 team in Wa doesn't get a player drafted, and only one player from the colts grand final drafted - water man - which is probably more to do with marketing for the west coast eagles corporation than his playing ability.

Perhaps the first thing that Dorrington can do to prove that he is interested in the WAFL competition is to get the WAFL AFL alignment removed once and for all.

Swan it is hard to beleive that at least three Swans colts players were not in there, they showed heaps in the GF and throughout the season. The red headed fella, the medalist and the huge FF (sorry cannot recall all the names have enough trouble learning 60 new ones) were players thatI thought had a good chance.

Maybe some others mat be able to comment ....
I wondered if there was a greater number of draft picks taken from the victorian teams this year ?
It seemed to me this was so

And if so - are the AFL teams becoming gunshy with interstate talent wanting to return home? (ala:- Brisbane's loss of 4-5 youngans all at once)

Why are folk suprised only one player from the 2014 WAFL colts GF got drafted?.......how many of them got selected or even deemed not good enough to play in that WA state team that got their arses handed to them on a plate? ....would really love to see an under 18 Foxtel type comp between all the states top 2 or 3 colts teams during the season or post season or even pre season to compare how good say a CFC, SFFC or the SDFC colts are against say the TAC or SANFL top 3 teams etc.......easy to look good within your own state junior comp level but not so good at another....

not saying none of SD/Cl or SF players arent good enough but WA best U/18 boys definitely were inferior to the SA and Vic teams for large periods during the carnival.......over the last few years how many clubs who have won a colts GF have had their league side miss finals the following season?.......EF, SF, SF and Cl all have won colts flags since 2010 and failed to play league finals the following season......whose to say SD wont follow suit in 2015?

Good luck to all the boys who got drafted......though whats the go with the Port Adelaide footy club and SFFC youngsters LOL!

We have to remember that it was a very small draft this year. There weren't as many delistings at the clubs I guess.

But there were 9 from WA and 9 from SA, so it's not a bad result from a WA perspective.

Still have the rookie draft to come and I would expect some more from WA to be taken then.

Well said freeze. Kiwi fresh air doing you wonders.

Only 9 fellas from wa drafted and not all of them even came from this years colts system. Swings and roundabouts though. When was the last time there wasn't a player from EF / SD's colts side drafted??

And as for SF and the Port Adel connection - sort the same thing. Although I do see the same port recruiter in the outer every week watching SF. Doesn't seem to get around much to other clubs??

Surjan, Newton, Ah Chee, Shaw and Frampton and I think one other recently?? Alot to come from 1 interstate club hey?

Will have to wait for the rookie draft now. Very important too as roughly 50% of most lists are made from rookie selections.

Out of interest, how much cash does each WAFL club get in terms of rookie selections?
SFFC - WOOF WOOF

Oh well those SD colts boys overlooked will do nicely running around in our league this year. Look out for Alby Dean to be in draft contention in 2015 and Daniels to seriously be looked at after a year of seniors. Anderson who wasn't drafted will do nicely with another year of seniors.

Waterman got absolutely cut up in the colts grand final BY PLAYERS WHO DIDNT GET DRAFTED!!!
