Never before has a club in the WAFL had access to a full AFL list however.
And it is not just about finals, it is about the qualifying rounds as well, those are the rounds which get you to your ladder position and at times this year East Perth have had 14 plus AFL listed players in their side. Funny enough the days they had very few AFL listed players were the days they got beaten.

As I have said before the idea of the alignment I actually don't mind as long as it is done correctly.

1) East Perth and Peel Salary cap is only 1/3 of all other clubs.
2) Point system is removed from all other clubs. All 7 other clubs should be able to recruit from anywhere and the point system should not apply just as it doesn't at East perth and Peel.
3) East Perth and Peel can have their coaches paid for by the Eagles and Dockers but a figure the same as the highest paid other WAFL coaches must be allocated from their costs. In other words if Dawson is on $150k per year and East Perth would normally pay a coach 70k per year then they still have to pay the 70K and the Eagles pay the extra 80K.
4) 10 game finals qualification policy. That figure is reduced to 7 if Both the AFL club and WAFL club are still in finals.

This is simple stuff which I cannot believe the other clubs just let pass them by.

Some good things listed there but the points system has evened out the comp and has been a good thing. I wouldn't mind if you could only have 5 players recruited from interstate or other clubs on your list in any one year ???

Back to Dorro the most stupid thing he said is that all clubs have 10-12 recruited players and EP's just happen to all be eagles and the rest are local EP players like Johnsone,Smith and Wulff - Hello Hello - all local EP players Hello Hello we must have a bad line ??????????????

yes that was funny....the bloke is a first class idiot!

If the answer to that is NO then it is quite sad that a club like East Perth have gone 36 years without a premiership that they can lay claim to doing completely on their own.

1978 had a few imports as well! with a coach that I understand was paid by a TV station

East Perth did win the flag in 2002 on their own. They had 1 AFL listed player in that game. The alignment was in 2000 & 2001 (not 2002). And that alignment was for eastern state rookies only. Not the full host club like EP have today, or what South Fremantle & Claremont had previous.

East Perth recruited well in 1978 with Cable & Miller. And they gave Wayne Duke a lifeline from Fitzroy, so the club were strategic geniuses back then. Nothing sinister in that, so those looking for an angle there can keep dreaming.

But a win tomorrow doesn't count. I can't swallow that. I do think Subi will suprise a few people tomorrow. Don't write them off, especially if its slippery.

Spot on BC, its the elegibility of the finals that makes it a white wash.

good luck btw, sorry mate but i reckon it will be a 10 goals smashing.[/quote]

Don't reckon it matters. To all fair minded & logical thinkers, the 2014 GF was decided last week.
