Told last night channel 9 are officialy back in race to save wafl tv coverage and cover games next year. Straight from the horses mouth.

Agree Cardy, ABC to a great job but if they cannt do it then Nine would be a good option. They wont have to work around AFL scheduling so games could be still at 2pm Saturday.

Would love ABC to keep it. If it goes to free to air, it'll be 5 mins of footy, 10 mins of ads.

Yes, will be sad next weekend. Being the last footy game televised on abc tv unless plans change which looks unlikely
Over the previous years, abc tv has done an excellent job with the Wafl broadcasting. Just hoping the commercial company does a good as job and stays with a high standard.

If channel 9 get it, expect varied feature neutral games at the WACA, which will include some double headers. That's the angle being quoted. But they must move mountains to retain the ABC coverage. Losing them is a grave concern.

The ABC coverage is gone! the WAFC must do everything in it's power to secure some TV coverage, it will be an unmitigated disaster to have zero coverage next year.

Makes more sense that 9 gets it as they have no winter sport to cover, they do a good job of the cricket during summer..

But agreed the ABC would have been the choice for me to continue...but in saying that the telecast game yesterday was a bit stupid when Ken Judge had his microphone turned off but kept talking to himself and the amount of times these guys get players names wrong is ridiculous and unprofessional..

Sunday Times story says WAFC screwed nine. Any more evidence of fools at work will be when they next open there mouths. Poor outcome for wafl but after today maybe we r all stuft

According to the manager of the so called commission this afternoon, sounds like silly 7 are still the preferred tv network. Negotiations are still on-going and maybe the clubs may have to contribute some of the broadcast cost? The actual cost seems to be the sticking point.
