Give Peel to Freo, give WCE their own team. 10 team league, 8 team reserves/colts with 8 zones.

Barney,

A lot of non WAFL people have said of recent that we should stop whinging as we had an opportunity to have stand alone AFL teams in the WAFL, that to me would have been a greater shambles as what I am all for is that the integrity of the WAFL Comp is not being taken the piss of !!!

If you haven't heard Percy's last WAFL wrap, do yourself a favour and go to SportFM 91.3 website and click on "interview podcasts" and scroll down until you see his name, he nails it in one, its a pearler !

Barney i have been pushing this idea for ages but some g7 people think they own the players after being drafted.I think it would be the fairest thing for all 8 traditional clubs if afl players played with eagles/dockers stand alone teams.get rid of peel and the bye as well.more money if we don't have to prop up peel.

How is it fair chaddy22? Here is a challenge you come up with all the positives to the G7 WAFL clubs for your proposal and then I will list the negatives about such an arrangement.

Going back to the old system will not make it fair.Remember it isn't just a matter of drafted players playing for their wafl clubs as eastern staters have to be assigned as well.Been some unusual placements.remember how the royals and demons got dudded one year.we came fifth and ended up with tarrant and perth came sixth and ended up with dean solomon.both hardly played any wafl and i think a couple of bottom teams got two players each.i think the year the bulldogs won the premiership they got heath black and one other because dockers wanted both to play at the one club.we seem to be the most backward thinking supporters in australia.i think at one time the kangaroos had their players shared by two teams but all afl clubs want stand alone teams or aligned teams.i said this a couple of years ago it wouldn't surprise me if we end up with a afl reserves comp especially if foxtel pays some money to have more footy content.
four positives i can think off get rid off peel.to team comp.no bye.and if we structure eagles and dockers stand alone teams right they will struggle like the crows and we can have a 21 game comp.

if the past model was so perfect why hasn't perth made the final four for about twenty years and peel never.integrety my foot.two rich clubs and two with the best junior disticts. How about the sharks swapping geraldton with the goldfields.I am sure subi wouuld be happy.

The issue has nothing to do with fairness, clubs simply want to keep players whom have come through their zone. Equally, the draft for the Eastern recruits of the VFL clubs has nothing to do with fairness; it is a rifle, as you suggest in your post.

I just finished watching the VFL prelim Footscray V Port Melbourne. I hope someone at the WAFC is taking note of the huge crowd they had, and what they get at the SANFL (I heard 13000 last week) and shake their heads and wonder how have they let the WAFL get to the mess it is in now. The semi final crowds in the WAFL were appalling and all parties in WA Football should be doing everything they can to rectify it immediately.

AR exactly we want to see our local players play for NOT AGAINST our WAFL club when they play in the WAFL.
