I was interested (and I suppose disappointed) to hear 2 Eagles Players discussing how fantastic the alignment was in particular with the host club East Perth.

Whilst I can appreciate that playing together with the guys you spend all week with would be great, but to say the professionalism/ club facilities and EVEN supporters where better at East Perth than their home club (mind you they were from 2 different clubs) was pretty poor form!

I know there are planned changes to the current model - who knows what they will be but this type of feedback isn't too flash for the other clubs!

Ed I think you would need to put it in context and understand that if they are asked what they think then they would be following a club line to say what they are told to say.
This is the world we live in now, much easier to tell people what they want to hear than tell the truth. The AFL and its clubs are the best at it.

I have received the same feedback Ed I think that's why the only club to have success with the alignment is EP. The players are supported very well and they understand when you pull that jumper on you have a sacred responsibility. Just look at Peel it's not working for anyone.

a sacred responsibility to do what? shaft the WAFL as we know it?

Lot of history in those jumpers BC. I set you guys up to have a free swing at the alignment I expected more venom from you. But I guess you are playing us this week no extra ammo for the players right.

Ed can you name the players and their original WAFL clubs?

Two separate clubs, my money is on Perth and Claremont.

My money is on Ash Smith and Peel

The host club alignment has been a COMPLETE FAILURE. It has made Peel a complete and utter laughing stock; it has gutted the membership and supporter base and appeal of East Perth; it has stilted the progress to league ranks of East Perth's colts and reserves; it has prostituted the WAFL competiton and not made one iota of difference to the Eagles: they haven't been able to make the finals in the two years that the host club alignment has been in place and particularly in the context of the Eagles' soft draw this year. Further to the lack of success for the Eagles since the host club alignment was put in place they were unable to beat a top 8 team in ALL 9 ATTEMPTS this season.

Finally, if the club formerly known as East Perth wins the league GF this year, it will be held in complete and utter contempt by most WAFL supporters; only the deluded ones will think it a legitimate premiership.
