If we didn't have access to AFL talent like Cripps and Morton etc last year I feel confident Claremont would have made the GF, and would have been a good chance of winning it. Also EF had enough talent and should have performed better but that's another story. I think this is why no resolution is possible there is the belief the old system was sustainable and equitable.

Jimmy Boag wrote: As of the current alignment coming into force in 2014 I no longer have a problem with non-aligned clubs "exceeding/cheating/breaching" the "salary cap". For example, everyone who follows the WAFL and has business contacts knows that there are two players at one aligned club that are not on the aligned AFL club's list that equal/take up the $182,000 salary cap. Given that club has averaged 14 AFL listed players, that leaves 6 players (after the 2 players) who play for nothing......mmmmmmmmmmmm....aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh gotta luv the cash economy!!

Thanks for the post Jimmy and good for a laugh. I really think us WAFL fans have to maintain a sense of humour even though non of this ALIGNMENT SHIT really makes sense. Maybe we could take it to the ACCC as it is certainly not good a fair trading deal.

Jimmy after reading this post 3 times it sunk in... Interested in who the 2 players are who play for nothing :( I wonder if the club splits the 182,000 up amongst the other 6 players... that would be 33,000 appx each :)

Does that mean the 2 who are playing for nothing (bullshit) do it for the love of the game? This whole setup is like a Fantasy movie..

Maybe we should call our comp the West Australian Fantasy League = WAFL

I thought there was no way it could be Swans, they have been playing colts and got no new recruits so where would the money go. But then a club official from another club informed me it is Swans and he had seen the figures.

The other concern about this issue (ignoring a couple of posters getting all fussed up without realising there is a marquee rule and non football payments) is if country teams get the player salaries list. All the WAFL clubs players could easily be poached to the bush at years end.

Mark Olsen just ignore them, don't take the bait. As I said, I no longer give a you know what which G7 clubs do it. $182,000 for players not on the AFL list....22-14-2= 6 players, plus sports science available to AFL clubs, coaching staff, medical staff, sponsorship (ch 7/The West) and fulltime altheles....mmmmmmmmmm  George Orwell would love it...some teams are more equal than others. Just the odd phone call from the WAFC boys telling you to pull players out so they don't look like complete muppets every now and then and you're guaranteed a top 2 spot, your supporters start saying that players from other WAFL clubs are "their players" .....they even get top colts players playing in their reserves....guess that's why they call this the lucky country :woohoo:

Barney, you are right on the money.Same thing with me today as happened with you.An official from another club confirmed that it is Swans who are at fault again and he wasn't impressed to say the least.Currently they are running well over the cap and they will need to make adjustments in the second half of the year or face another fine at year's end,apparently..How can the WAFC continue to punish them financially when they are already some 1.75 million in debt as at February 2015?Should they be stripped of points instead because they simply don't seem to be cleaning up their mess.As Barney asked, how can a club who recruited nobody because of their financial problems turn out to be the club involved in this email leak saga?

So the Black Ducks still can not count. Sad state of affairs. Imagine if Hams n co had stayed. Bit of work for WAFL HQ now. Maybe an Essendon Carlton 2013 finala situation on radar if true.

who gives a faaaarrk if it's SD.....nothing new with their number crunching history....atleast they are consistent..... unlike the umps........perhaps the WAFC should bring the Basso ammos in to take their place....at least then the comp can still see the likes of Garlett and Kraks strut their stuff..
