Whilst it is early in the season the average attendance at a 2014 WAFL game so far is 1970.5 with total attendance to date for 20 games 39410 according to the published figures supplied by the clubs through WAFL Online. If you were to extrapolate these figures across the season the overal home and away attendance would be 177345 with 4 finals this could mean a total attendance of around 210000. Each club's average to date is in bold.

The average for each club is:
East Perth 12643 2529 (Played 5)
East Fremantle 8607 2152 (4)
Perth 8064 2016 (4)
West Perth 10069 2014 (5)
Subiaco 10003 2001 (5)
Swan Districts 7274 1818 (4)
Peel Thunder 7249 1812 (4)
South Fremantle 8800 1760 (5)
Claremont 6111 1222 (4)

When you compare that to the average WAFL attendances since 1997 as compiled by La Hincha you can see that the average is way down. So much for the benefits of the alignment!!!!??? Whilst it is early days we have gone back 7 years!! Hopefully the ANZAC games this weekend will improve the 2014 figures dramatically

Thats funny Cause that's the year I started going religiously.

I maintain a 3000 average is possible. And wouldn't it be great.

I've got different results for three of the clubs? East Perth, West Perth and East Fremantle. Plus you have divided Claremonts total by five instead of 4.

Just as another comparison these are the league averages after round 5.

I see the derby attendance last season had a figure of just under 4 thousand. It would be great to see 10 thousand plus at the ground. And the Swans - West Perth game should be a cracker. Hopefully a good crowd goes out to Bassendean too.

Interesting that the West Online ran with this story this morning! Dale Miller loved your personal interest story on Brock O'Brien! It is nice to see a focus on WAFL players as against a current AFL player at Peel or East Perth.

Apparently the attendance for the East Fremantle & South Fremantle game today is said to be 3,485. Disappointing such a low number!

While SANFL had two games with 10k+!

Fans here in the West are apathetic and have been conned into watching AFL unfortunately, plus it helps they are on 7Mate each week, that exposure is what is getting people through the gate, why cant 7 do the same here?
