Bronte Howson has now stated the wafl must cull one club. I would imagine he wouldn't be making that statement if EP didn't have that alignment.
Everyone knows one club should be culled and that club should have been Peel. But given they are now being looked after, the clubs being targeted are the ones who historically built this league. His comments are no doubt mirrored by most, but they are comments that should have been pushed years ago when Peel should have been given the flick. They have been a commission catastrophe. Talk of culling a traditional club, especially coming form Howson is an insult I believe.

One club has been culled already. East Perth no longer play in the WAFL. The WAFL still has 9 teams though as the West Coast Eagles took East Perths position.

Agreed GWS - Adam Simpson said his club was playing an intraclub match this coming Saturday - the Eagles' AFL team versus the team formerly from the East Perth Football club.

Perhaps he was talking about his club given that they will be discarded like a used . . . when the devil incarnate moves to Lathlain Park Oval in a few years' time.

Swan, I believe we have a case of precedent set when it comes to re-naming the alignment club. The example is the musician Prince who after contract disputes decided to drop Prince in favour of the symbol only for the media to get tired of it and refer to him as "the artist formerly known as Prince". Therein I propose that we now refer to EP or WCEP or whoever they are as "THE ARSEHOLES FORMERLY KNOWN AS EAST PERTH". If they need a symbol to go to how about a picture of Bronte kitted out in Eagles gear flicking the bird. Seems like he's already adopted this pose in today's publications.

Can't help but get a feeling that we will see a merger between "THE ARSEHOLES" and Perth out at Lathlain in the not too distant future. No disrespect to Demons supporters and sincerely hope I'm wrong, just a feeling I get and that maybe the posturing has already well commenced with Bronte. Wonder if he'll give the Demons supporters a say in any decisions he makes for their club
