Unless a player has played a minimum of 30-40 League games then no transfer should be applicable.

But the one thing i just cannot come to terms with is the Salary cap.
East perth and Peel should have no more and to be honest less than 1/3 of the salary caps of the 7 clubs that are not aligned.
How on earth did something so simple get past the presidents is simply beyond me.
East Perth and Peel by being aligned have put their success now in the hands of the two AFL clubs. They have some seriously high paid people on their list and they should have to rely on them to win games and have any success.
East Perth and Peel should also lose any right to a say in how the WAFL does anything, lose any right to future funding of WAFL clubs.
They are run by the two AFL clubs and the responsibility of these two clubs is now the two AFL clubs.
The Eagles and Dockers have got their wish and have all their players playing together. East Perth and Peel have got their wish to have help to have any future success. The gift for them is to have a list full of AFL listed players.
The penalty is virtually no salary cap, no voting rights.
Fine that this worked out easy for the Eagles and Peel, one way or another that was always going to happen. But east Perth and Peel should be fighting all the way to even be considered or looked upon as a WAFL club and be treated with contempt in almost all regards by the WAFL and its 7 non aligned clubs.

come on boys ease off the alignment.....Peel have never had success and basically need a ride on Freo's back to gain it.....whilst EP, realistically gained success last on the back of their alliance with WCE.....seriously EP are in a similar boat to Perth footy club....last genuine success back in the 70's.....can't blame them for jumping aboard the WCE gravy train.....again!!!

as for transfer fees and all that......well call it pay back for EP much maligned junior zone being hammered, year in / year out, by the WAFC, for encouraging all those Afghan, Sudanese, Korean, Vietnam etc families to reside in those suburbs within spitting distance of the Perth Glory footy club (formerly known as Perth Oval)....instead of those junior zones of EF, Cl etc etc.......

I come at this debate fair minded Jimmy Boag I can see how unfair it is and wished for a more equitable competition. The WAFL has not been anywhere near fair for decades and just got worse. Any sarcasm that you may detect would probably be born from debating people that have a very very narrow view of football and life in general. On our forty protected player list, yes probably should be less but it's largely irrelevant. If you think the 33 or 37 best player at East Perth will seriously strengthen another side your mistaken. Free transfer or not all it does is rob a kid at your club opportunities. Don't become like East Perth with restricted opportunities for talented youth. I hope that's matter of fact enough for you.

Raponi promotes his club at every opportunity so credit to him. His point is relevent about large transfer fees for players that will be "excess" to EP needs. This love in with WCE gives EP at least 15 additional players so it stands to reason not all EP players wil get a game.

Considering the start of the 2014 season is a long way off, and the East Perth Coach hasn't expressed his thoughts on this Forum; no-one knows what is going to happen and it only stands to reason to anti-East Perth supporters.

some of you guys should get real.once the eagles and dockers draft your players and pay you blood money for the privelage they own them and can do whatever they want.they can trade them to another afl club for a draft pick or move them to another club like they have done for the last 25 years,as for transfer fees if anyone wants to jump ship all i expect is a fair transfer fee.we will not be able to recruit players from the g7 or interstate otherwise krakoeur wouldn't have ended up at the falcons.is footy fair-no.one club is bleeding players and it is all to do with money and not the alignment.

Jimmy Boag wrote: Royal2019 do you think it's fair East Perth have a player list of 40, like all the so called G7 clubs, plus, the 15 or so AFL listed players each week? The "rookie" listed players don't see any $$$ go to their club of origin. That's what pisses me off, East Perth will have the services of a quality colts player from Claremont for nothing, he won't play AFL as he's rookie listed.
What Raponi was saying is that East Perth & Peel are in a "unique" position in that they have potentially a list of 55 with a slightly reduced salary cap (note the 15 or so AFL listed and rookies are exempt from which makes the $60,000 reduction farcial)and are being recalcitant in standing in the way of players who won't/don't have a chance of realistically playing league at your club.
PS Try to answer without the usual sarcasm that you seem to love using in this debate-it's way too clever for us G7ites. :S

should read the rules jimmy.all clubs have to have a minimum of 55 players on their senior list.most clubs this year had about 60-70 and were still under the 130 point barrier even tho a few had 12-15 non zoners on their list.with 20 eagles not being in the afl team and if 40 is the minimum east perth have on their list it will mean a total of 60.a lot of injuries to the eagles like last year or to league and reserves palyers could cause a problem.

We are talking about east Perth and peel charging fees for reserves players, if you can't see the difference good luck to you. I take it you don't mind paying a fee for Bennell and Newman to play for east Perth next year or did you get them for free ?

if you are gonna refer to us as wce we have already paid a fee it is called a draft fee.seriously who would pay a fee for newman.will he actually get on the field this year.

Apologies if this has been answered earlier - What happens in the future to the West Coast players that go to East Perth for nothing (newman, bennell etc), play a couple of years and get delisted by the eagles then want to return to their original club, will the original club have to pay a transfer fee to East Perth ??
