35,240 at Adelaide Oval
Traditional rivals Glenelg v Norwood
Bays won
Perths new Wafl coach
Was the winning Premiership coach for Glenelg in 2019.Defeated Port Adelaide who had 17 Port listed Afl players.
Do yousrself a favour and watch the replay on 7 plus.

Terrific atmosphere , Adelaide Oval is really taylor made for these types of events smart design with grass roots feature like a hill and plenty of standing room still.

Really goes to show a big crowd in a smaller venue makes for a far better spectacle, even with 25,000 at Optus looked and sounded like a morgue at times, and camera scanning over 1000s of empty seats looks utterly appalling.
I don’t know how it looked on TV,but the atmosphere was just fine where I sat,and I would rather watch my football club playoff in the WAFL’s marquee match of the year in front of 25,000 fans,in a state of the art facility, instead of a primitive, dilapidated WAFL ground that holds 15000,queuing to go to toilets that were installed before the Boer War,and walk on piss stained floors that overflow like the Ganges river.

Been to two there and one at freo, with 10K - the freo oval say utterly crapped on optus atmosphere wise and beer was better as well..

Well at one stage,a 35000 plus Swans v Royals GF appeared to be a distinct possibility, and I don’t believe there would’ve been any problems with atmosphere, and playing that fixture in front of 15000 at an archaic WAFL ground would’ve been a real travesty.

South Freo man prefers Fremantle Oval.... what a shocker!

Ask any player in the league what their preference is, and they all say Optus Stadium.  For some, it may be their only opportunity to play on such a stage.  It's the best facility available in the state and as such, it should host the biggest day in WA football.  It is a venue befitting of the occasion.

Asking a WAFL player whether they’d rather play at a WAFL ground or Optus,is like asking excited newly weds whether they’d rather have the reception of their big day,at Alfred’s Kitchen or the Rockpool.
