That was a great elimination final.
Claremont have some serious young talent+Bolton who's still a star.
Unfortunately East Perth fwd line broke down in the second half.
They put up a good fight..
FMD the umpires live in thoes western suburbs.

Enjoyable game on tv. Thought East Perth were very unlucky. Great effort.

Fascinating that aflw derby went head to head with East Perth v Claremont. Both were on tv .Ratings, attendance etc

Two brilliant finals matches played in tough conditions. A credit to all 4 teams.

They've no doubt sunk a bit of piss together at the UWA bar, Steve's, Captain Stirling, The Claremont, Matilda Bay yatch club, The Albion, CBH, OBH etc...

As a neutral I really enjoyed the two finals on the weekend. Both games were hard fought contests with the results in doubt till late in the game. This weekend promises more of the same. Maybe the weeks break for the Sharks will be enough to neutralise the Peel AFL players superior fitness. Tigers V Lions, a lot will depend on how Zac Clarke has pulled up. His battle with Eastland will be pivotal.
Some good battles in the lower grades too with Swans v West Perth, Subi v Sharks in the ressies, Perth v Claremont and East Freo and Subi in the Colts.
I assume that all the East Fremantle games will all be played at Fremantle given that they were the league minor premiers and the others played at Leederville?

Mikeh I know it’s a juggling act come finals time as to whose in but the WAFL site has the reserve’s game being played at Leederville as you suggested. It begs the question then what advantage was there to WP finishing first?Yes I know they get the week off but both sides have only 1 team in the finals so the support staff(trainers, etc) still only have to travel to one ground.SD also played at Leederville last week and although it’s our” spiritual ground” it doesn’t mean much so far as advantage is concerned whereas Joondalup certainly would have been.I know costs of using Joondalup for a once off reserves game would probably be financially ineffective but seems inequitable so far as the “advantage “ of finishing first. It is what it is I suppose- just saying.

Given EF v Peel will be on Saturday and Su v Cl on Sunday, not such an issue for Subi support staff doing the Colts and ressies Saturday at Freo and the League Sunday at Leederville.

Watched both games on Ch 7 quite enjoyable, pity the crowd was absent on the Saturday game, it's a bonus for WAFL having the crazy pre finals AFL week empty of games, so they get a bit of free air, shame the crowds didnt respond, wonder what the ratings were like as it was a good weekend to spend in front of the Tele.

Thought EP had theor chances but just could not make up a pretty small margin in the final Qrt, Subi on the other hand just feel in a hole.

Its yet again another Subi v Claremont final, how many times have they played each other in finals last 30 years???

Got a feeling Monts will get up.
