Note the WAFC has decided to make the season 2 weeks longer and hold GF after the AFL grand final and clubs are not happy. Whats peoples thoughts?? Seems football has become a year round sport with very little downtime, would we not be better off with a shorter WAFL season to take pressure of clubs and staff/players?

Agreed Skill. Far too long for players and staff.
For example Perth started training this week. They make the GF (if) and they would have been at it for 46 weeks. Ridiculous. Season should go from
Sat April 8 to Saturday September 9.

18 home and away 1 bye after 10 rounds.
4 weeks of Finals.

Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Rather than lengthen the season, the WAFL need to find other ways of playing matches when the AFL is not on. An example would be to take advantage of the warmer weather early in the season and have more twilight/evening fixtures especially at grounds such as the WACA

Spot on - the WACA, Lathlain - that's exactly what's required but no, this mob try and out-dumb the AFL buffoons who - in case you've missed it - want four field umpires next season. Nucking futz. Neither the WAFC nor AFL are effective custodians of the game, as they should be.

Fkn hell good luck getting permission from the supreme ruler of Lathlain Chairman Nisbett to play twilight or night games earlier in the season, our boys can’t even walk across the main oval to get to outer oval we are told we have to train on during pre season. They’ve got snipers on the balcony I heard. 😂🤣

18 games is enough but October better than March. Cooler.

The WAFC have actually got this one right.
The WAFL GF being played the week after the afl gf has proven a success and is the way forward but it must be played at Perth Stadium not the derelict suburban grounds.
I am not sure why WAFL clubs are upset at this as all WAFL fans I know and speak to regularly are happy with the change to an October GF.
And not playing in March is another good move as it is far too warm to be playing (not too mention spectating in the sun) footy!

The weather anomaly we have called ,The Indian Ocean Diphole..Has the projected weather forecasts as hot in March and April. At this point where still having mild weather in late November.
Maby even consider moving the season back a few more weeks.Maby 3 weeks after the AFL Grand Final.Playing all Wafl finals after the AFL GF.

They make the season longer but they still have 20 rounds with 18 games each is my understanding.
Get rid of this Bye bulldust and finish the week before the AFL GF like it always used to be.
More twilight/night games in March/April where grounds lighting is suitable.
The WAFC are becoming like the AFL and like to stretch it out as long as they can where there's no need to.
