I reckon Souths will beat the Thunder. Their team will not be as strong and the Doggies are a better team than Swans in a finals situation.

Wait till you see their team Mike.  They will have 15 or 16 Freo players.

Really depends on the result on Saturday night Roman. If the Dockers lose to Collingwood which is very likely then you might find there are a few withdrawals from the Peel team on Sunday. Souths may find they are only facing about 11 Dockers which will make a massive difference.

It appears the Sharks are very confident of towelling up the Tigers this Saturday according to media reports this week. Captain Jupp believes a window of opportunity has presented itself and they will be hard to stop from here on!
Monaghan has been touted as coach of the year by loyalist fans, so I guess Claremont will be in for a thumping if you can believe the pre game publicity?
Thanks for the tip off mate. I listen to a bit of SportFM in the car but am a bit hopeless following anything else as too busy with my "bread job" (as Kafka would have called it) and my business, other hobbies and helping to run a household. Where did you come across that because I have heard zip?.

Anyway good luck to Juppy. I hope, like you did with the Sharks in 1984, he gets to play in a GF. But hopefully though, unlike that season, we can lift the cup.

I hate all this crap about how easy it’s going to be, coach of the year and any other crap that’s disrespecting your opponent.  The Sharks, like Fremantle, aka (flagmantle) have a very long, disappointing fall if they lose this weekend.

I reckon the beauty of this years finals series 58shark is that you can make a case for any of the teams in the race to beat anyone else on their day. Not like 2021, 2019 and 2018 where the outcome was inevitable. West Perth have the advantage of finishing top which is certainly a big start but you would not rule out Claremont, Souths or the Sharks from knocking them over on their day. I will be observing with great interest as a neutral ( although just a little pissed off because my team arent a part of it) but I think this has the potential to be the best finals series for many years

Can anyone tell me the reasoning behind the rule that says the dorks can stack their team of crabs if they’re in the finals, but not if they get knocked out?  Sounds like the WAFC really don’t know what they’re doing.

Basically it's big business doing whatever big business wants to do!
Bloody useless thing that's called a football commission simply allows them to do so!

The WAFC just think the WAFL should exist to serve the 2 WA based AFL teams (both of whom are wholly owned by the commission). This was a push designed to help get the Dockers up to win that first elusive premiership and blow the WAFL. But good ole Collingwood laid that to rest. Corporate bodies love mission statements. The WAFC should have in theirs to make the WAFL the best Aussie rules comp in the land outside of the AFL.

And there’s another conundrum Ti Em.  If the WAFL owns the 2 AFL licenses, how come they are subservient to them?  Talk about the cart leading the horse!!

The only thing would be that if they are out of the AFL finals, the rule would prevent them from dropping guys like Brayshaw, Serong, Mundy or Walters back to Peel to try and stack the team and wing the flag. While the AFL team are alive they wouldnt do that but the system as it is can still be manipulated.

They are not limited for todays game due to Freo playing last night and will field 13 listed players, 2 down on last week. If they get through todays game, they will then be limited to 12 listed players. The rule, as flawed as it is, is to allow the AFL teams leftovers to keep playing real footy while the seniors are in the finals.
Go the Doggies!!
