Willie Roe was a good pick up from EP (via Darwin) Southy, an underrated player in the 80s.
John Begg, Geoff Gillies, John Hayes, Barrie Quick, Neil Randall, David Rawlinson, Paul Vasoli a few others.

In more recent times I thought Peter Kelly, Evan Hewitt & Ryan Webb were good pick ups.

Some of the names being thrown up are really great, just shows that sometimes a new environment can allow a play to continue or just start.

Ryan Webb is one that can always recall at WP, amongst the trainers at EP we always reckon he was more likely to kick it to the opposition than WP player but when he went to SF (I think) was a much better player.

Strempl at Swans along with Spanderman where interesting players, perhaps I recall them for their off field exploits rather their football at Swans.

Neesham, Melrose are to great swaps.

Yeah come to think of it neither was Kelly DG, back when Cicco was doing some of his best work with those brown paper bags haha.

His name was mentioned last weekend at the 1990 Premiership reunion Grump.
Apparently Toddy sacked him on the spot leading into the Finals that year due to being late to Sunday morning training & being intoxicated on arrival but was later talked around by the players after Strempel apologised to him, one of the very FEW players to get a second chance under Toddy.
Gee if only he could have been more disciplined off the field he could have been a great player ol Stretch but alas.

Frank Stockley came to Subi after missing selection in WP's 2013 premiership team, another Ex WP boy Joel Latham who played 58 ressies games for Joondy never got a league opportunity, both played in Subi's 2014 premiership team.

Swans got Barry Kimberly off the Dees. A Perth f&B went to South a few years back
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

As someone else said here, this post needs to focus on rejects who have made good, not good players who have continued to be good at other clubs. And "reject" would have to mean not in the best 22, rather than unwanted. I'm sure that SF would have been happy to keep playing Sokol, or C to keep playing Saunders in the reserves, but those players sought more opportunity and made it count. If we don't stick to that definition, this will just wind up being another whinge about poaching.

EP have had a few of the first lot - Turnbull (and yes I know it was a WCE decision but ....)
Stephen Hooper, Josh Smith, and now Rohan Kerr.

Of the others well there was Calyton Lewis who at the time became the highest priced reserves player in WAFL history.

Grump, would Barry Cable be the biggest reject of all after being shown the door from East Freo for being too small of stature fall into your list?
