Great to observe interest in C4 by footy community,
Lol...probably suggest we keep footy tips to one 'thread'.
For me:
Cobras
Manning
Noranda (MOR..for sure)
Red Hawks here ,they are a different side at home!
Roleystone by heaps

A few interesting results over the weekend, the only surprise would be Rossmoyne knocking off Yanchep by 5 goals up there, the hawks are a different side up there.

4 rounds in and you’d almost be able to bookmark the top 5 for the year.

While their winning margins haven’t been huge, the Cobras have knocked off both Piara and Rossmoyne (2 sides you would say are a safe bet for the top 5). Currently looking like an all cockburn grand final based on form and depth of the 2.

Thanks 'High Pants' for vote of support!

The boys are certainly not setting the "World on Fire" with results,
Regardless with what they have been through just happy to 'Steady the Ship'.

All results went as I expected on the weekend.
Piara sending a msg with big win against Noranda.
Manning over a struggling Armadale
Cobras too good
Rolly getting up
And Rossy with an away win.

Piara Waters made a big statement by thrashing previously unbeaten Noranda by 17 goals. Piara have recruited heavily this year and have a very tall and skill full team with Sandilands completely dominating the ruck. Noranda psi start to the season may have been overrated as they beat Armadale , Manning and Forrestdale who look to be the strugglers of the comp.
Cobras kept their unbeaten run intact with a good win over Bayswater. The Cobras will have some points to prove but as the biggest club in C4 with 4 teams they have a big base to choose from.
Roleystone have always been thereabouts in E1 the last few years and a good win over Foorestdale who have also come up from E1 .
Rossmoyne had a good win over the Red Hawks and are looking ing like contenders again.
Manning got onto the winners list with a win over Armadale. Both teams have had players walkout this year and will need to work hard to improve.
Cockburn Lakes had the bye and look to be the early season favs at the moment. They have had large numbers at pre season and recruited well and also have a strong Colts which is vital for success past results in C4 over the last few years tell us that the you need at least 3 teams , either colts or thirds , to win a premiership. Teams with only 2 teams very rarely win premierships in C4 and any Grade in Amateurs for that matter.

I went down to watch a few mates play in the Piara V Noranda game. Piara jumped out the blocks early kicking the first three then Noranda hit back and looked to be right in it, scores were level at qtr time.
Same again in the second, Piaras ruckman and midfield dominated. Looked very good. Noranda were hanging on and as a neutral must say the men in orange made some poor calls which cost Noranda. Piara were up by a couple at half time. Piara came out and closed the game out in the third and were 6 goals up at three qtr time. I didnt stay to the end leaving half way through the last but Piara looked to have kicked 13 goals in 15 minutes of footy which is a superb effort. Piara will go ok as they have some major height that teams will struggle with. Noranda on the other hand need to find some height.

Great write up Jords. I think it’s looking like a very big gap between the top 5 and the rest.

At the risk of sounding controversial here, I don’t think Piara are the flag favourites, though they definitely will be up there. Chad Sandilands is a big in, but I feel as though in terms of tap ruckman there are better tuck and midfield combos that spring to mind. The cobras have a strong midfield and solid ruckman, lakes also have a few ex south freo players running through their middle. I see that Solomon from south freo is at Rossmoyne now, another team with a solid midfield and a lot of talls.

Hard to really say just who is the best at the moment, coming in to round 4 both lakes and Noranda had been steamrolling everyone. However if you look at who they’d played (the 3 bottom teams), this probably wasn’t much of a surprise.

Cobras have been quietly going about their business without really annhilating anyone. They have however, beaten 2 of the contenders in Piara and Rossmoyne.
Any side with enough depth to have Daniel Chick playing in their 3rds team, is probably going to be there or thereabouts.
