Playing coaches can be paid. Non-playing assistant coaches can be paid. Player coaches and non-playing assistants can be paid a combined total of $15k per season.
Players cannot be paid even if they fill the role of an assistant coach.
A Reserves coach can be paid up to $15k to coach and is also able to play in the league side

2 ex AFL players now coaching reserves teams and playing league. makes sense as to why.

Well played to the 2 clubs involved, all they need now is to show that they are coaching game day and they have done nothing wrong.
Both I’m sure would only coach until 1/2 maybe 3/4 time as they would need to prepare for there own game.
I’m sure the WAAFL will have people watching as they would feel they have had their own rules used against them, beware of the all mighty integrity team

A lot of player movement in C2 at the moment. SNESA also picking up a few handy players. Will be an interesting comp and I think closer than what people think.

Yep that makes sense , let's pay a Reserves coach $15k and a Colts Coach $15k and let two (2) players play in the senior side. That upholds the old WAAFL "Amateur Tradition". Why not just increase match day merit awards by $30k, at least that way everybody would benefit!

You would think now that the league would be aware of it happenig this rule will be changed for 2019.

If your club had the cash you could spend $45k a year on 3 players as long as you get them to take on a coaching role. League, reserves & colts and not be breaking any rules (technically).
Put 3 ex afl players into any ammo side and your looking pretty good.

Will Dianella & Snesa struggle coming in to c2 with all the big boys? Or can they hold there own?

Is Noranda Going to dominate with c1 experience or the amount of players leaving the club to much of a loss?? Even though they have a solid colts side. Who i believe has made the past 2-3 GF i think.

Have to agree warnbro would start the year flag favourite in league, have great depth in the 2’s
Ridge would be considered a chance if they start the season we as the finished off last year really strong, also have a gun 2’s side.
Big watch on Canning. New recruits and beside a couple of big losses (to gossies like everyone else during the season) they where in almost every game.
Also Canningvale. Quality colts side last year, how many of them step up into league footy this year.
Noranda big question mark with so many changes and Nollamra will play finals not for their afl recruits but all the quality player the pick up wanting to play with these guys.

Was walking the greyhound down at the park the other day and got my first glance at a new look dianella in a slick and physical int club. Speaking to some chaps i know down there, they have picked up 20+ quality players from a neighboring club. I also spotted the c2 BnF winner and the third place c2 running around. Could have a crack in c2 2018. Also talk of a thirds or colts? Not sure whats happened with that.
