MR Mysterious Grand Final Wrap.
Well what a weekend of football I am sure all got to witness.
Just a quick recap of the ROOsults.
Wanneroo won in the Colts
Kingsway won in the Reserves
Wanneroo beat them all to win the league.

So MrM is lead to believe Saturday went down like this.

Wanneroo Colts came out firing and never looked back. MrM thought Swan Athletic would have put up more of a fight in the second half, didn’t realise that meant they would actually try to fight. 3 cards on Grand Final Day? Awful.
Wanneroo dominant all season and were exactly the same when they needed to be.

Reserves. Well Kingsway were accurate in front of goal, Wanneroo were not, not at all.
Kingsway hit form at the right time and steamrolled all on their way to a flag, so kudos to them. Only 1 yellow card in this game.

League
It was a very evenly matched game throughout the first quarter although Kingsway looked like they were going to break the game open. Wanneroo did manage to stop their momentum though and get back into the game in the second half of the quarter.

In the second quarter Kingsway looked to be moving the ball well and came out ready to go while Wanneroo just couldn’t quite get things going when they moved forward, however they did manage to keep the damage to a minimum but Kingsway had a very nice 3 goal buffer at the main break.

In the second half though it was Kingsway at the start but momentum was arrested when Kingsway were about to have a shot on goal but the ball came back to the middle of the ground as a Kingsway player gave up the ole “Liverpool Kiss” to a Wanneroo player and was given his marching orders from the field.
Kingsway were denied a shot on goal, Wanneroo went down and kicked one, and it all changed form their.
As the Wanneroo crowd got vocal, the players lifted, and were all over Kingsway in the 3rd quarter, so much so that the siren for 3quarter time actually stopped Wanneroo’s momentum.
However Wanneroo managed to put the game to bed in the fourth quarter.
Only giving up a few goals when the game was all but over.

Well done to Wanneroo, found form when it counted and only lost 2 games since Round 10, by a combined total of 4 points. Commiserations to Kingsway they were good all season, looking forward to next season already.

Alright here we are for Franks last write up for the 2017 season. Congratulations to all the winners on Saturday in what was an absolute beaut of a day. Boothead wasn't much of a write up from the weekends events, was expecting something a bit better to be fair, but your team didnt win the big one so it might just be disappointment. As for the weekends events here is how I saw them

Colts game was pretty much over at halftime with the Roos coming out firing in the first half. A 6 goal to 1 half then proceeded to get worst for the Swan ath as there frustration got the better of them with 2 yellows and a red. They would be dissapointed with both there performance only kicking 1 goal for the game but the way they carried on in the 2nd half.

Reserves was a scrap of a game that was very unpleasant on the eyes if you were from Wanneroo. Not being able yo kick straight with something like 10 behinds before a goal and just general use of the footy being well below par hurt Wanneroo. Kingsway were more discipline and handled the day a lot better and were deserved winners.

As for the main event, the masses had turned out for what was going to be a cracking affair. Kingsway started quicker and use of the ball hand Wanneroo on there toes but to the credit of Wanneroo to be down by a point was a fair effort. Kingsway did lose there starting ruckman to what looked like a broken collarbone in the first
The 2nd saw kingsway continue to play there style although only extending the lead to around 9 points. The 3rd Wanneroo came out all guns blazing and continually peppered kingsway defense in which they just couldn't stop wanneroo. The game lit up with an incident where a wanneroo player had a late hit to the head of a kingsway player and from there kingsway reminstrated. They intially had a free kick and 50 which would have given them a shot on goal only for a kingsway player to head but a Wanneroo player in front of the umpire. He got a straight red had the footy turned over and from then kingsway looked done. A 3 goal 3qt time lead for Wanneroo hsd them up and going but after teams traded goals Wanneroo then put there foot down and broke the game out to 6 goals at one stage. Wanneroo ended up winning by 4 goals .The massive Wanneroo crowd were in a frenzy with 2 outta 3 flags for the day and im sure a big 48hrs of partying.

Its been a great season other than the debacle that is kelmscott and all clubs should be proud of there efforts. My 2018 season tip will be North freo for the flag with big Jon Griffin running a muck all season for the maggies. Frank is out
