Well what a good weekend of football we have coming up with 3 high quality games across the Colts, Reserves and League.
MrM can see all 3 games going the distance with so much on the line for all its going to be great to see the results once it’s all won and done.

Well done to the award winners at last night’s WAAFL Awards Night, as A.Vawser from Hamersley Carine won the B Grade Medal.
As disappointed as MrM was for missing the night, MrM has eyes and ears everywhere and heard a few good clubs put in a good performance.

Its going to be a good weekend of football, so let us have a look at all 3 games.

Colts

Swan Athletic v North Fremantle @Gil Fraser

Swan Ath appear to be a good Colts side and would be looking to avenge last weekend’s extra time loss as they face North Fremantle at home, (who gets the home changeroom? Swan Ath?). North Fremantle would have no doubt been practising their goal kicking this week and will need to lift as 2.8 doesn’t win you many finals. Because North Fremantle has “the greatest Colts player of all time” (The magpie’s army words not mine) MrM might tilt their way in an upset.
North Fremantle by 1 goal

Reserves

Swan Athletic v Kingsway @Gil Fraser

Swan Ath are a very good Reserves side and may be boosted by a few players coming down from the League side after their exit last weekend. If they play to their strengths then they should be able to get a win here. Kingsway were apparently boosted by a few League players last weekend who can’t play this weekend, so it will be interesting to see how they line up. Swan Ath had a very good % all season, so I think they will be able to get a good win here.
Swan Ath by 3 goals

League

North Fremantle v Wanneroo @Gil Fraser FOTW

With so much on the line for both these clubs it’s an easy choice as this weekend’s Final Of The Week.

North Fremantle was the benchmark all season but in the last month or so they have fallen down as teams around them have been able to pass and defeat them. They may have had a few injuries along the way, but aren’t firing as of yet when its most needed. North Freo is a good side though with a strong forward line and midfield so it will be up to Wanneroo to stop the inflow of ball to their dangerous forwards. If Wanneroo can do that then it will see them go a long way to winning the game of football. It’s just up to the forwards to be kicking straight this weekend as goals could be a premium. If MrM was a betting man, he’d bet that it will come down to the last minute as these sides player a thriller earlier in the finals and expect no different. With all on the line MrM will say it will be an all Roo affair next weekend.
Wanneroo by 3 points

Good luck to all this weekend.

Colts- Swan Ath are just too classy for Nth Freo, i will back them in by 4 goals.
Ressies- Due to be a cracker, but again i think it will be Swan Ath in a thriller by 1 Goal.
League- This will be huge two huge clubs fighting for a bigger prize. I think unfortunately for wanneroo that the home side will win, but i wouldnt be suprised either way here. Maggies by 2 Goals.

Which would mean the following:
DBC GF: Wanneroo Vs Swan ath
Reserves GF: Wanneroo Vs Swan ath
League: Kingsway Vs Nth Freo

Colts
Swan Ath where unlucky not to get the points last week and will be too strong for North Fremantle.
Reserves
Again Swan Ath were unlucky not to win last week and will make amends this week.
League
North Fremantle have the wood over the Roos at home but I feel Wanneroo can turn the table on them when it matters most.

I agree with everyone's commentary, so far, that all these games will be tightly fought contests, with results going down to the wire. All the loser can consider themselves very unlucky because at times throughout the year all have proven to be among the strongest sides.
Whatever happens this weekend each side should be proud of their efforts to get to a Prelim final.

Geez louise, its Friday already, Wednesday was that big for Frank full of Moscato's and catching up with some of his fellow ozfooty pals. Just a couple of shout outs are required. Colonel Klinks performance was something to be seen. Frank was impressed with some of his moves he now just wishes he could see such moves on the footy field. I couldn't find boothead throughout the night although i didn't check the kingsway table, maybe he was on that table? And last but not least, Mr M, I know this would be one event you would have loved to made, I still can't wait to meet the great man one day.

As for the results for this weekend...

Colts: Swan ath by 5 goals. If this was at another venue I would havr said the result would be larger but nevertheless should be a good slog. North freo should be confident that if they are in the game in the last qtr, they might be able to over run a tired Ath team. It won't happen though, the grape pickers to win

Ressies: Swan Ath to beat kingsway by 4 goals. Wont be a lot in this but Ath will jusy be a bit to physical for the teal roos. With Kingsway league not playing will be interesting to see the team kingsway have out there but the same could be said about swan with there league team out. Either way the grape pickers will have 2 teams in the grandy.

League: Wanneroo to beat the maggies by 2 points. Now this game will be close and in my opinion but where the game will be won well im not sure on that yet. Wanneroo need to kick straight or as i said earlier in the week thr game will be past them. You can never underestimate a team like North especially as they are a club used to playinh in big games like this. I still think A grade is getting 2 new teams and they are both from the North.

Good luck all grades and clubs and rumour has it next weeks games are gonna be at East freo oval. Frank out

Fantastic day of football today although wanneroo got the chockies, the maggies should feel super proud of their efforts in 2017. North Freo got out of the blocks early and kicked the first five goals much to the suprise of the neutral supporters. The Roos didnt hit the front until the last 5 minutes but were clearly the better outfit.

Going to be a big day next saturday down at shark park with traditional rivals Kingsway and Wanneroo taking each other on in both the League and Reserves. Surely will have a bumper crowd and atmosphere.

9th September- East Fremantle Oval
DBC- Wanneroo vs Swan Athletic
BR- Wanneroo vs Kingsway
B- Kingsway vs Wanneroo

Time to come clear, theres one team i will be supporting next saturday and they will be wearing teal.
Go you mighty roos.

BooFhead...there's only one team you support and that's whoever you think might win. If Kingsway gets up you'll be all over them no doubt.

Pretty disappointing for North Fremantle to fall away considering the start to the year and money invested in the coach. I would've thought a promotion would've been a pass mark. Not sure where that leaves us with Woey likely to move on next year

What a weekend of football it looked like it was.

Colts.
Swan Ath got over North Freo
Kingsway upset Swan Ath
Wanneroo only lead for 2 minutes of the game, but it was the 2 minutes that was needed as they came to win.

It now sets up 3 tantalising games next weekend.

MrM only caught the last half of the game thanks to a very well timed live stream from a spectator and an early wake up saying Wanneroo were on here...MrM loved the look of the atmosphere.
They fought from 5 goals back and proceeded to have 21 scoring shots to 5 after North Freo got the early jump on them.

Interesting to note as well apparently North Freo don’t take losing well as MrM was shown footage of 2 miscreants abusing the umpires after the game...That’s never on.
Would love to hear how the game went from anyone else’s perspective, or even the other grades.

Cannot wait for this week and MrM may even have a surprise for all.

Interesting to see they've scheduled the B Grade GF @ East Freo considering it is Wanneroo vs Kingsway. I'm guessing Joondalup Arena was not available...
