We are that close I can almost smell it. I'd like to start my thread by saying congratulations to Boothead, not only did everyone all ready know you were from Kingsway, but to announce it thinking no one knew, just silly. I guess I should also congratulate the 2 teams left, not only good luck this week but also moving into the big leagues next season. Not that it matters but if North freo had won on the weekend they would have had a home grand final pretty much which i think is a bit suspicious but why should we speak about that as its not relevant any more.

As for the weekends games...

The colts was a two team comp. North even with home field advantage were no where near it. Swan ath and the roos will be another beaut im sure.

Kingsway surprised Swan by 1 goal. I guess if swan kicked straight they would have won, but from what I saw kingsway were just that bit better. That will hurt the wine pickers coz they were that close to the big one the week before.

North freo blew a 34 poiny lead to Wanneroo and miss the big dance. If you told me North wouldn't have a team in the grandy I would have put a carton on it. As a club they fell right away and will still be kicking themselves about what happened. Maybe the coach will focus on treating the other teams with more respect instead of saying it was a 2 team comp which is funny coz neither of those 2 made it. Wanneroo will be jumping with joy and with 3 teams playing will be very excited about the week ahead.

Frank out

What a day of footy the fans were treated to over the weekend.

While North Freo got away to a cracking start in the league, the wind did play a factor and with Wanneroo knowing they had the breeze in the last, they were always a strong chance to come back.
I felt Wanneroo were the better team on the day and ground out a win in the dying minutes.

Unlucky to North Freo who were the best team in the front half of the year. Not sure if they fell away or if Kingsway and Wanneroo got some key players back and found form at the right type of the year. I'm a glass half full guy, so I am going with the later.
Regardless it sets up a great battle with cross town rivals, who always enjoy tightly contested games. Should be a great game of footy.

I am looking forward to both Bootheads and MrM's write ups and predictions this week. Especially now that Boothead has finally announced his true alliance, which was about as much of a surprise as Ian Thorpe coming out of the closest.
