well ladies & gentlemen, we have probably the most decisive round of the season this week. With alot of spots decided.

Kingsway vs Wanneroo @Kingsway Reserve MOTR
This game is absolutely huge, two clubs who share a fair bit of hatrid to each other, face off to fight for a top 3 finish. A win for kingsway, and they are pretty much guaranteed a top 3 spot, whilst wanneroo could throw it wide open. This is going to be a classic, but i will pick the home side. Just. Kingsway by 9 Points

Mt Lawley Vs North Freo @Hamer Park
Stiff not to be match of the round, the hawks have been flying. Barring a last round loss to wanneroo they are the form side of the last 5. They face a side who will take a lot of beating to lose the flag. This will be close, the maggies will win but dont discount an upset.
Maggies by 4 Goals

Maddington vs Swan Ath @Harmony Fields
Maddington showed much more promise last week only losing to North by 7 goals, which was a fair effort considering the difference in class. Swan Ath can not afford any slip ups and wont here. Swan ath by 6 Goals.

Kelmscott vs Hamersley @John Dunn Memorial Reserve
N/A

Stirling vs Collegians @Richard Guelfi Reserve
Unfortunately for the saints, this kelmscott situation will hurt their chances of staying up severely. They must win this week to be any chance but collegians are still in the finals hunt, with two winable games to play. Stirling will put up a serious fight but Collegians will win this one. Collegians by 3 goals

Good luck to all teams.

Round 16 upon us and a few match ups this weekend will have an impact on how the ladder is looking after Round 18. Plenty left to play for as well, ladder positions, pride and avoiding relegation. MrM is definitely looking forward to this weekend as the wet weather hits you never know what could happen especially with some unexpected results.
MrM has jettisoned (yes I skydived with backpack, luggage and all) himself back into the heartland of the U.S as he continues to study abroad, good luck in Perth all, the weather looks a treat.

The big news out of the week is that Kelmscott may be done for the season, if so, very disappointing for them and for the competition. I would like to hear where it all went wrong for the bulldogs, Chooka? Are you still out there?

Let us get into this weekend’s games.

Kingsway v Wanneroo @Kingsway Reserve MOTR

It is a no brainer really, it is this weekend’s Match Of The Round.

Kingsway bounced back last weekend after a disappointing loss the weekend before. An even spread of goal kickers is the key for them as well as the ball use they get out of the midfield to the forward line. Wanneroo need a win here to keep up their top 3 chances in this important clash. Away from home in front of a strong Kingsway crowd it will be a tough game, but I think Wanneroo “Johnny Come lately” Roos can get the upset victory.
Wanneroo by 1 goal

Mt Lawley v North Fremantle @Hamer Park1

Mt Lawley got back into the game last weekend only for it to slip away in the last few minutes. If they can play 100 minutes of football they stand a real chance against North Fremantle here. MrM expected more from the “Brothers of Destruction” last weekend, but they can rebound this weekend. This is a real danger game for North Fremantle here as they just need to keep on winning to assure themselves of a top of the ladder finish, lose and it could open up. It will be a tough slog at Hamer Park but the magpies to get a good victory.
North Fremantle by 3 goals

Maddington v Swan Athletic @Harmony Fields

Maddington need a win to avoid relegation it is a simple equation. Win and they can avoid, lose and you never know. They do face a tough test against Swan Athletic though, but MrM hears player numbers may be on the low with a cricket tour. A big game for Swan Ath, one they can ill afford to lose. I think the boys from the Valley will be too good though.
Swan Ath by 3 goals

Kelmscott v Hamersley Carine @John Dunn Memorial Park

Who knows what will happen, either way Hamersley to get a 15 goal win.
Hamersley by 15 goals

Stirling v Collegians @Richard Guefli Reserve

This is a must win game for Stirling, like Maddington they desperately need a win. If they want to avoid relegation they need to win all their last 3 games, something that is possible. Collegians should be happy with last week’s win over Kelmscott to keep their finals hopes alive, if results go their way, you never know what could happen. I think the boys in blue can win here.
Collegians by 2 goals

Good luck all, MrM is jet-lagged and not feeling too good, so enjoy, as there is only so many YouTube videos one can watch.

Well boothead I am not sure why you are so surprised. The margin may be more, but I have gone the conservative route.
Given the wet weather I hardly expect a blowout.

Well well well, its time to get those hands dirty as we prepare for a slog this round of footy. Some big games with big ramifications for both the winners and losers. Boothead, I am a real fan for your time and thoughts that you put into your posts but this recent comment of yours bothered me. Of course Mr.M is a wanneroo man so he would never tip against them, yet you come up with a dumb comment as you did. I guess everytime you tip kingsway from now on, we will all comment with how am I surprised.

Thats my rant over and onto some ripper fixtures, and in my opinion a round for the underdogs.

Mt Lawley to keep there form going and to surprise the maggies. Will be a slop down at Beaufort st this week and the hawks will be out to seek revenge. Upset number 1 with the maggies going down by 8 points

Stirling to beat collegians and end there season. For some reason i see a battle here and the collies boys not liking the tussle. Stirling to keep there season alive by 10 points

Wanneroo to beat kingsway by 16 points. With an earlier start the real question is will the game beat the rain. Either way plenty of hostility and real tough game. This game keeps the top 4 alive going into r17 and 18

Swan ath to beat maddo easy. This is the only result not to be an upset. Maddo would love a win and relax for the last 2 weeks but the wine boys like it moist and thats what there gonna get. Ath by 33

Kelmscott forfeited over hamersley

Good luck all teams and ill see ya soon. Later fellas

Ahhh I do sincerely apolgise boothead, how dumb of me to accuse you of something like this without getting my facts sorta right. Although i did decide to go thru previous posts on here and it definitely doesn't look like you are a Mt Lawley supporter. For the readers numerous times he has gone against them and for a supposed supporter he definitely doesnt come across like one. Glad your not a supporter of my club boothead, definitely not any good footy energies coming from yourself

Nothing wrong with MrM picking his own team Boothead, that's what you want from the old faithful. Anyway... my tips.

North Freo- 10 points
Collegians- 3 goals
Kingsway- 2 goals
Swan Ath- 40 odd points
Hammersley- 89 points ;)

Kingsway v Wanneroo @Kingsway Reserve
Wanneroo by under 3 goals here. Both teams are over-rated and at the end of the season it won’t matter who wins this one.

Mt Lawley v North Fremantle @Hamer Park1
North Fremantle by 5 goals plus. The only risk here is whether late season complacency sets in at NF.

Maddington v Swan Athletic @Harmony Fields
Swan Athletic by 4 – 6 goals but will not have it all its own way against a Maddo team that keeps on chipping away. Be sad that there will be no Maddo team in the competition next year after a small few at the club sold their history and traditions down the river.

Kelmscott v Hamersley Carine @John Dunn Memorial Park
Normally would say Kelmy by 3 goals plus here but not sure what is happening and why the fixture may not be proceeding? If it doesn’t go ahead as fixture then I’ll change my tip to Hammersley by 89 points.

Stirling v Collegians @Richard Guefli Reserve
Too hard to pick here but in the wet with relegation a risk Stirling will get the job done by under 2 goals. Collegians are getting worse week by week and should be folded up with Dalkeith Oval re-classified to housing.
