Well what a day of footy yesterday, by the looks of the results.

Boot head will no doubt be waking up to a huge hangover this morning after his two big wins yesterday.
1. His beloved Hawks got up in a huge upset (IMHO), to prove they are the true inform team in the comp right now.
2. He also proved MrM and Frank the Tank wrong, with Wanneroo again losing a close one to Kingsway. Does this rule them out as a serious contender or just rule out their top 3 chances.

I would love to hear some feedback on the games, as I am fair weather supporter and I don't venture to the games, if strong winds and rain is on the horizon.

Well MrM wasn't in attendance on the weekend but looked like some fantastic games.
Champ Kinds not sure it rules Wanneroo out as contenders but it ruins Wanneroo chances for a top 4 no doubt about that. Although MrM checked the team sheet on the weekend and they are missing 6 walk up starters for their best 18 at the moment.

The results.

Kingsway edged out Wanneroo in a thriller (MrM got a blow by blow description...just wait)
Mt Lawley shook things up with a win over North Freo
Collegians thumped Stirling and
Swan Ath got up over Maddington.

As MrM wasn't in attendance, he asked a very reliable gent to cover the games for him, below is a direct transcript from the horses mouth.
This gent is a trustworthy gent and the best gent I know. Great guy.

"Hey mate, just saw the results, not good for the league side, others looked good though. Run us through what happened, you're my eyes and ears remember haha"

"Ah great man, well the day went like this"
"Colts - good game from us, played tough disciplined football. Number 8 from Kingsway genuine miscreant (use this word please) haha
Reserves- held on to win when Kingsway kicked with the breeze in the last quarter. Fantastic for Ox's 200th.
League - we lost. They didn't win. Some good contests but let it slip late."
"Do you want best players as well ?"

I will leave off his best players as there is no need to report on this and he was probably 12 pots deep at the pub when I asked him. But seems like a good day was had at Kingsway.
Little did he know I'd copy word for word his account of the day.
Would love to hear what made him say that about #8 in the Colts. But looked like all were treated to a good day of footy.

Mr M - your mate obviously enjoyed the Beers as i will explain below

Colts - Number 8 for Kingsway was targeted and reacted which is something he needs to learn from. Wanneroo physically bigger and stronger (Kingsway has a lot of 1st year Colts) and are my tip for the flag

Ressies - Kingsway had a shot on goal with a minute to go that the Kingsway boys got pretty excited about (a few Wanneroo boys dropped the heads for a moment) only for the goal umpire to say it went over the post. Tough slog for both teams all day in the worst of the conditions

League - Interesting Comment in that "We Lost - They Didn't win" - Kingsway down to 2 on the bench before 1/2 time and 1 halfway through the 3rd qtr, turned 3 goals up and gave up the lead late only to snatch in back with 3 mins to go (kicking into a fairly strong breeze as well) for a very tough win that was well earnt by the real roos wearing teal!!

Interesting part now is that any of the top 5 can win this competition you just need to be up and about on the day.

Thanks for the game reviews MrM and Sneaky.

Always great to get both sides of the story. As with all things the views always differ depending on the colour the team is wearing (Blue&White VS Teal in this case).

Would love to hear from Boothead about the win to his Hawks. No doubt still suffering a victorious Hangover.

I do agree with you Sneaky, the race between the top 5 is very exciting, especially after this weekends results. We have a great finish on our hands with a the final 2 rounds remaining, all positions are still up for grabs. round 18 especially is going to be a cracker.

It's not often MrM criticises anyone let alone Colts players.
But MrM would like to know if #8 for Kingsway is a repeat offender...

Didn't know that fact about that in the Rederves game, but would back the WAAFL goal umpires in 100%.

As for the league I think your comments justify MrM's stance.

But you're right, the Top 5 is wide open.
Hamersley Carine won it from 5th a few seasons ago. I think all clubs in the top5 currently are in better shape than Hamersley wen they went up though.

Hi y'all, what a round we had of football, the weather was shit but the games well some of them lived up to expectation. As you all know i tipped upsets and I did get one right. The Beaufort st boys opened up the 5 with a win over the Maggies which made Kingsway wins even over wanneroo even bigger in terms of possibly finishing top. As for wanneroo did they miss there chance to make the top 3? Love to hear everyone thoughts on how the ladder is gonna finish especially with the remaining fixtures.

The weekends results showed

Stirling are crap and i think in that clubs best interest they should probably try and stay in C1 for awhile to build up the depth in that club. With there league constantly being a yoyo there colts and ressies are just a debacle. There is nothing wrong staying in C1 for a few years to build up. Collegians did the job convincingly and need Mt lawley to lose this week.

Mt Lawley are the real deal right now but will there tough end to the season mean they run out of steam? I know one thing boothead doesnt rate them cos he didn't tip them. As for North freo this loss could be detrimental to where they finish. Kingsway this week and then wanneroo in a night game by the looks could see them slide a couple of spots.

Kingsway edge the roos in a real battle by the looks. Kingsway pretty much guarantee a top 3 spot but will be wanting more. North freo this week and then the ath have them in a tough position but with wins in both could set them up as favourites. As for wanneroo there first loss in awhile and will be dissapointed not to edge closer to a top 3 finish. Need to go out and beat hamersley snd then get the choccies over the Maggie's and hope for results to go there way.

Swan ath building momentum but also have 2 tough games. For them to drop from the 3 they need to drop both of these games and with the form of Mt Lawley and kingsway who knows. Maddo have done there job this season and have survived relegation. Will need to recruit if they want to go anywhere next season. No club depth is an issue so will need to be rectified.

Would love to hear about the weather conditions of games this weekend to see if they had any effect on the games
