Three umpire system for league games down to C4 this week.
How has everyone found the umpiring during the finals?

1 umpire I saw do a colts ge was damn average. Probably close to shouldn't be doing it. The other guy, young kid, I thought was good.

I think west coast Eagles. Attached to C3

Yeah this is the first week that panel umpires are doing C3 colts. So whatever week you saw Viper was most likely junior development squad or a clubbie.

Well it's fair to say the 3 umpires don't work. Never been involved in a game that had so many free kicks. It's like they were all trying to out do each over to see who could give the most frees away

There lies the problem, lower grade football not quick enough to really warrant 3 umpires as they get left out of the play far too long. They still use just 2 Umpires in UGSFL country footy finals, seems to work fine

Sorry don't agree Bomber. Maybe the real issue is that teams below C1 are not used to decent umpires who apply the rules appropriately plus with three umpires in the league games most of the bullshit that goes on behind the play gets picked up. There is no way panel umpires go looking for free kicks like traffic cops trying to fill an infringement quota.

Was at the C1 game down at Melville on Sunday. Can say that i wasn't overly impressed with the men in orange. Someone needs to tell the boys it isn't about them, its about the footy. Same old story really isn't it. Some decisions left me scratching my head and the ones that weren't paid were blatantly obvious.
I don't ask for much really, alls you need is to pay the obvious ones, and don't search for the iffy ones. This isn't the AFL.
