Does anyone have any knowledge on where the Grand final will be played this year? Is it safe to presume that they will be at Lathlain again?

I heard a rumour it could be at Bassendean Oval.
Same as the A Grade. But you never know, it could change.

The short answer is that they probably don't know until the week before.

Is usually at 1 of 3 grounds traditionally:
1. Lathlain
2. Basso
3. Joondalup

The B - E Grade GF's are on the same weekned as the WAFL Semi Finals so Leederville is out as that will host 1 game and maybe 2. Joondalup is likely going to be used for the other game so it in all likelyhood will be at Lathlain or Basso.

Claremont Oval obviously isn't an option with the construction etc going on there. East Freo is one they haven't used for years but might have to look at for C grades etc and I assume Freo Oval is off limits due to Freo training.

Grand Final Venues confirmed as follows:

B - Steel Blue (Bassendean Oval)
C1 - East Fremantle Oval
C2 - Lathlain Park

All lower grades are at Suburban Grounds

So Scabs and HC are put a half an hour drive away. Great planning!

Given that the 3 closest WAFL grounds to Scarbs and HC are all unavailable (Joondalup, Claremont and Leederville) any other option is going to be at least half an hour's drive away.

I haven't heard anything positive about the experience at Lathlain last year (probably the reason they're only hosting C2's this year), so Basso is the next best option.

Why does it have to be at a WAFL ground?

The WAAFL need to charge people to get in so it needs to be an enclosed venue.

There are a few ammo grounds that meet that requirement (I.e Kingsway, Gosnells, Forster Park, Wannerroo Showgrounds etc) but these are allocated to Lower grades.

WAFL grounds are generally going to be better venues so I don't see the problem?

Just asking the question. My opinion is proximity to the two clubs is of importance. Claremont Showgrounds or Richard Guelfi would of been a better option. But that's just my opinion.

Basso for the B grade grand final is a joke really particularly considering the 2 teams that are playing surely Lathlain would have been a better option
I am sure with a little thought and restructuring the WAAFL could have come up with a far better solution
