Qualifying final
League: Kenwick V Noranda
Reserves: Warnbro Swans V Thornlie
Colts: Noranda V Mosman Park

Elimination final
League: High Wycombe V Coolbinia West Perth
Reserves: Coolbinia West Perth V Canning Vale
Colts: Warnbro Swans V High Wycombe

Is it Cricket Season yet??? LAG welcomes himself back to OzFooty after a spell of hibernation. My apologies for the lack of content this season... work has taken it's toll!

Nevertheless, well done to the Minor Premiers in all three grades.

My tips this week;

Noranda & High Wycombe in the League
Warnbro & The Mighty Cougars in the SuperTwos
Noranda & Warnbro in the Colters

Now after 9 Games, 9 pre-game hamburgers, 4 dislocated shoulders, 1 broken thumb, 1 black eye, 345 beers and 0 training sessions, this old man makes his comeback in the SuperTwos this week as we take on CWP after they beat us twice in thrilling matches which both went down to the wire. Beware CWP, we have stacked the f*ck out of our side! Kidding.. or not kidding, I am not sure whose in the side to be honest... or am I??

Anyway, Saturday should be a good day, finals footy is upon us - the second best time of the year after Melbourne Cup. I hope the smell of the freshly cut grass gets you all as excited as I do.... Good luck to all the lucky buggers who get to pull a jersey on this weekend.

Good luck to all teams and well done on reaching finals.

League
Kenwick over Noranda by 3 goals - Kenwick are my tip for the flag

High Wycombe by 10 goals - CWP stink away from home

Ressies
Warnbro - Since there league side is out and Thornlie's is still playing i think they will get the job done here - 5 goals

Canning Vale - Dark house here. Don't think LAG is joking with the stacked side comment. Will have some very handy league players running around tomorrow i would think ( D Fry) - 10 Goals

Colts
Mossies - Players will drop back from the league side so on this will tip an upset - 1 point

High Wycombe - again tipping an upset just due to the fact High Wycombe get a home game here - 2 points

League
Kenwick you'd think with their current form should win this, though an upset isn't out of the equation with the numbers that came in late in the year for Noranda
High Wycombe should win this one over CWP, home ground advantage

Reserves
Thornlie have the capabilities to take this one out, but Warnbro I think with their consistency is the safe bet
CWP I think will win this one, Canning Vale have some good players dropped down to Twos but a few players don't make your team

Colts
Noranda will win this, it's a much larger ground than Mosman Park normally play on
High Wycombe at home I think for this

At Scott Reserve on the weekend:

Colts
Warnbro 10 7 67 def High Wycombe 4 10 34

Reserves
Canning Vale 11 20 86 def CWP 2 5 17

League
High Wycombe 15 17 107 def CWP 15 10 100

Long time listener, first time caller gents so please bear with me if this drags on. Got to the ground just before half time of the colts to see a fairly high intensity Colts match that had a little bit of heat in it. Skills and brand of footy looked pretty good post the break and although I didn't see a lot more of it, it did seem like an entertaining game.

We started the Reserves game and for the third time playing CV this year there seemed to be a lot of new faces in the team; maybe LAG was telling some truth in his veiled post last week. Anyway the game started at a frenetic pace, the quickest of any game I'd played all year, including the couple of League games I filled in. Neither team had scored a goal very early (or at least I remember) and a couple of points were scored at either end. However that's all I remember from the game as about 10 mins into the game I was completely cleaned up whilst picking the footy up, apparently clear of a contest. From there I managed to get myself off the ground, although at the time I had absolutely no idea where I was. Physio thankfully ruled me out and wouldn't allow me to return to the field, which was a wise decision in hindsight. LAG, I am almost absolutely sure it was you who committed the act, but I cannot view the who received yellow cards from opposition in the game, can I LAG? For the record, I was unable to work Sunday & Monday, and am still suffering from headaches, neck & back pain. One word to describe what happened..... 'Filthy'....

Anyway, apparently it was pretty was fairly close until half time where CV blew CWP out of the water and extinguished any hope we had. Good luck to CV next week but I expect Warnbro to get through, it was surprising seeing Thornlie knock over Warnbro in the Qualifying final.

The League game by all reports was an entertaining match see-sawing between CWP and High Wycombe. CWP held a 3 goal league at half time but the class of HW shone through in the second half to run out three goal winners. Congratulations to them, they were better then a fourth placed side in my opinion, and will be a genuine danger to all those who may face them in the next few weeks.

The only negative feedback I received from our supporters was the behaviour of some HW supporters when one of the CWP players suffered a serious injury. The player had shattered his radius where it joins the elbow and was making his way off in considerable pain where some high quality HW folk in the crowd thought it appropriate to inform him of his perceived 'reduced manly stature'. Take from that what you will. When a CWP supporter asked that they show a bit of respect to a seriously injured player, they received a strongly abusive rebuttal, which finished with a wild swing that collected a CWP spectator in the face. Feel free to correct me on the detail, but physical contact between spectators is definitely not what amateur footy is all about.

Our injured player is due for surgery on his shattered radius, with parts of an artificial radius and elbow to be inserted in his arm. For our sake, we hope that his quality of life post surgery is not diminished, let alone whether he plays football for our club again.

Sorry to hear that, Pete. I really am!

Yes it was me... But to call it filthy I feel is not an accurate description at all!

I too, was bending down to pick up the footy and stood up just as you barreled towards me with your head down, making contact with my thigh. A complete and utter accident highlighted by the fact that not one of YOUR TEAM-MATES remonstrated with me at all and as I was running off, lots of the crowd were telling me I was unlucky for getting my first Yellow Card in over 300 Games of football.

Contrary to the three soft yellow cards handed out to BOTH teams, the game itself was played in great spirits!

Further to LAG's post - the CWP player i was playing on in the forward line said 'did he just just a card for that? that's pretty soft'

Calling an accident 'filthy' sounds like sour grapes Pistol.

I see mount Lalwey have made two grand finals this week - well done guys! What's gonna happen when you have 4 sides in the same comp in a few years.... Tough decisions to make. Who do we play for.

Hi phrase, seems like you enjoyed yourself at the awards night Monday. So much so that you posted at midnight when you got home.
The mighty Hawks would love to have you down at the club if you're keen. Unlike you guys we don't pay players and everyone pays fees. We also hang out together on Saturday night outside of football..........

In the super twos, very hard to go past canningvale! Really out played warnbro all over the ground with some unfamiliar faces in the reserves I'd say if their league was in contention the twos team would of looked very different. Goodluck to all

Haha! It baffles me why the Phrase gets on here to have digs at Noranda. Not sure you have enough ammunition to look past an 0-18 season. And the fact we have more of your listed players coming to our functions then you do attending yours!

Footballsthewinner it seems Canning Vale are now the favourite in the 2's but lets hope Thornlie knock them off and two genuine reserve sides contest the GF. My money is still on our boys, with 2/3 of the Reserve side playing league footy at different stages this year.
