Would be interesting to know whether this is as PH said .. an unregistered player or whether it was a suspended player playing. If you remember back to round 11, Piara had a player suspended for biting a Cockburn player. We played Dianella two weeks ago and talking to there players after the game it sounded like the biter had played against them whilst suspended.

Seems there is a lot of people on here that think we cheated, here are the facts as we presented them to the association last Friday 31/07/2015.......

1) We cleared a player in before the 30 June deadline, we cleared him from SA, as he had played there previously, what we didn't know was he had played in WA last year and the club he played at didn't clear him from SA, it appears as though they created a new profile for this guy on sporting pulse. Our club received an approval from the SA club clearing this guy from them

2) The said guy played a couple of reserves games and 1 league game. Our reserves haven't won so no need to deduct points from them.

3) According to sporting pulse the said player is still registered to our club even though the association has said we cant play him again this year, We didn't know about the issue until Friday so we played him in league after playing him for 2 games in the reserves, we didn't make shit up, and we didn't play the said player under a false name.

4) We went to the association last Friday to alert them that the said player was recorded twice on sporting pulse, and to ask them what to do, we could have said nothing and not played him figuring that the associations checks and balances had not picked up the issue, but we would prefer to try to sort this out, hence our president and register both calling Geoff Palmer on Friday to alert them.

5) That resulted in the association docking us of points, and giving us a fine for playing an unregistered player

6) There are a few people on here that claim we had a player suspended for biting this year after a game against Cockburn. I can categorically deny that the player was ever charged with biting. The player copped two weeks for striking in that game and he served them against Dianella Morley and SNEZA.
Cockburn have claimed during that game of an accusation of biting, and they have even put it on here numerous times, but I will make it clear, the association has never investigated an alleged claim of biting against any of our players.

Believe those facts if you like, because I can tell you that is factually how it happened. However clearly guys like maddog and Hobbsy know more about our football club and the way it runs than I do.

As Junior said its been done and dusted, its time to move on, we have, and we are preparing to play Ballajura this week for top spot. To the victor comes the spoils, to the looser comes the hard work to get into a secure spot for the finals.

Great stuff PH filling us in with facts! Until someone actually displays the facts there will always be aspersions cast. I never actually said that things did or didn't occur.
I think you guys and the player have been a bit hard done by in all honesty.

Rules are rules maddog, they are in place to keep us all in line, and on this occasion we got caught out, regardless of it being a mistake or not.

I agree we may have been hard done by especially as we have been told the said player cant play at any club for the rest of the year, bit harsh on him I reckon, however ill leave things upto our club and committee to go down the appeals process as they feel fit.

onwards and upwards. We are not sulking were looking forward to giving it our best shot this weekend, win and we still hold top spot, that's our goal

Thanks for clarifying PH. Certainly wasn't accusing anyone of anything, just wanted to find out what happened & now I know. I do agree its a bit harsh if it's an administrative error that the player can't play again this year. Personally don't think losing the points warranted either but that's me. Ah well it makes things more interesting now for all. Looking forward to an exciting finals serries.

Another case of a player not knowing where they last played, is it really that hard to remember. Let's hope it doesn't bit you on the arse. I take it the bloke in question wouldn't be to popular at the minute. The game this week would have decided top spot anyway as Ballajura has the bigger percentage so losing the 4 points has changed that.

Pleased to see the comments about photographs and disappointed to see that no one has taken it further. I understand photo ID's existed in the old Sunday League and as was said, now there are iPads, it should be easy. I know our Registrar has been diligent with taking photos, but it appears that it has gone no further.

Why not??

The WAAFL used to have photo ID cards as well...

If there was a way the umpires could access both team photos from the home teams iPad it would definitely be feasible.
