I know Kelmscott flogged Freo CBC but has anyone else got any other scores and do you think Kelmscott have proven they have what it takes? I certainly do!

CBC were missing some key players but never the less Kelmscott were way too good. Won by 11 goals. Doddy was terrific down back, Their aboriginal boys were brilliant!!! I believe #17 was Mal Yarran brother to Shane Yarran from Subi. Left footer with class who played up forward.

NF lost by a point. Peakey had a chance to win it but kicked a flour bag.

Sounds like a great game to be at. To be honest it seemed as though were missing a few. Still 11 goals is a fair wack. Must be important players.

The big upset was obviously Kelmscott taking out CBC by 69 points. They are the real deal but without a reserves side a couple of injuries will probably end their run. Full credit though, they are winning against the odds in what is an interesting season to say the least.North Beach and Uni just scrapped home against Kalamunda and North Freo respectively. My big tip West Coast looking the goods with a three point win over Wesley Curtin. TA's with an easy win over a depleted Mt Lawley. Next week will tell if Uni and CBC have fallen off the pace. Will Kelmy make it four straight when they front up to North Freo?

A League Results
Trinity Aquinas 18.16 (124)
Mt Lawley 5.9 (39)

North Fremantle 7.10 (52)
University 7.11 (53)

C.B.C. 6.4 (40)
Kelmscott 16.13 (1029

North Beach 12.6 (78)
Kalamunda 11.7 (73)

Wesley Curtin 9.7 (61)
West Coast 9.10 (64)

A Reserves
Wesley Curtin 8.7 (55)
West Coast 9.4 (63)

Trinity Aquinas 22.10 (142)
Mt Lawley 4.2 (26)

North Fremantle 6.6 (42)
University 7.7 (49)

C.B.C. 19.13 (127)
Kelmscott 0.1 (1)

North Beach 9.12 (66)
Kalamunda 10.4 (64)

I still don't understand why Kelmscott dont try to bolster their reserves and colts sides. Whilst they obviously have the capacity to attract good league players to the club, they are completely ignoring the fundamentals of long term success, which requires a club to build from the ground up. That means ensuring you have a strong colts and reserves program. At the moment their colts and reserves are an embarassment and it must be disheartening to say the least for the boys to front up each week for absolute floggings or even worse a forfeit. If some of the time and energy was directed at attracting a core group of solid players locally or even better for the club to consider commencing discussions with some of their neigbours in the south suburban corridor,I think you would have an A Grade team that would be a force to be feared and that would have long term success. Kelmscott are seemingly in exactly the same position that Maddington & Stirling found themselves in for three or so years in A Grade. Players lose interest quickly if they don't have support and a slide down the relegation ladder of grades becomes inevitable.

Its not that kelmscott have neglected there reserves and colts side just struggle for the numbers they put alot of effort into trying to recruit purely for numbers unfortunatly with the move to A GRADE we did loose a fair few ppl 2 other clubs in the area due to not wanting to play competitive football and many other due 2 personal reason, it makes it awfully hard to recruit young players to a club in the east like kelmy when u have other A grade clubs with all the glits and glam majority of the players are locals or have played for several years and been apart of the last 2 consecutive premierships to get us where we are today

Would also be hrd out that way as there are a number of clubs in the area/close by and the ammos are part to blame for allowing new clubs to enter the comp within close proximity.
Who is out that way? Maddo, gosnells, canningvale, piara waters, southern river. The same has happened in all grades. They allow the opening of cottesloe footy club so that takes players away from mossie, west coast etc. all it is doing is making the weaker sides weaker and the A grade comp will be heads and shoulders above the rest. Hence the reasons clubs need to pay players to win flags
