Collegians had a strong side on the weekend. Was a great game to watch. Good hard fought game. Well done to Collegians getting over the line for the win

Yes that is correct. A lot of the team is made up of a few groups of friends so when someone has an event of this nature we are normally decimated. I feel we may be forced to the brink of a forfeit again soon if the intentions of my fellow forum exponent in E2BandF are to be believed that he'll be dropping knee quite soon.

My understanding is that Collegians are unbeatable at home, but can not seem to get their best 22 on the road.

Hopefully we're able to put up a good showing against Forrestdale on the weekend and should give us a good indication of where we're at for the season.

Haha yeah makes it a little tough when people do but maybe clubs should have rules, no player is to get married or commit to marriage during the season lol

Yeah it seems that way with them....we watched em at home against HW and then played em the following week and they were quite a different side......we got Forrestdale the following week so you'll have to give us the heads up!!

What's the odds paying for a few forfeits this week?

I can confirm Brentwood Booragon Bulldawgs will not be forfeiting. Unsure of the other teams, however.

Collegians (E2)
15.0-90
Stirling (E2)
0.1-1

Coolbinia West Perth (E2)
6.2-38
Noranda (E2)
8.14-62

Kingsway (E2)
10.3-63
Warnbro (E2)
4.6-30

High Wycombe (E2)
15.0-90
Wembley (E2)
0.1-1

Brentwood Booragoon (E2)
8.6-54
Forrestdale (E2)
15.10-100

In terms of the BB vs Forrestdale game - FD started off well and totally blitzed us in the first and second quarters. Our normal ruckman was down south no doubt enjoying some of the finer things in life which left us with our backup ruckman; a hulking 6 foot 6 110kg giant. Unfortunately this giant cannot jump, was severely hungover from a Simpsons quiz the previous night and has shoulder issues. As such, we lost about 90% of the clearances.

After half time I went into the ruck and managed to at least square up the hit outs 50/50. The opposing ruckman was only around 6 foot compared to my 6'3 but he could time his jumps to perfection, so well played to him. We managed to stay in the game after halftime and actually won the 2nd half by 2 goals. Our forward Matt Johnston kicked another 5 or so and had another cracker jack of a game, as did most of our backline. Game was played in good spirits and the weather held off so I thoroughly enjoyed it.

On another note: we are scheduled to play Stirling this week. Are they out now? 5th foreit and 2nd in a row. Not sure how they were allowed the 3rd foreit, then to play, then to have 2 more???

Have them and then Wembley the following week so looks like a mid week vacation is on the cards for us.

Bit stiff throwing all the blame on the ruckman. What were the midfielders doing? Have they ever heard of manning up? Perhaps laying a tackle?

Gave yourself a pretty good self assessment there, E2BandF. By the sounds of it you could be on the fast track to be our number 1 ruckman.

If there is anyone from Stirling here could we please get an indication if you think the game will go ahead? We're eager to play. Some more than others. I'm one of those as it may give me (a player who spends 80% of the game in the forward 50) a chance to kick my 2nd goal of the year.

I do agree that it was a good game. The most impressive aspect was the intensity and zealousness of the Forrestdale side. I was told they get 40 to training each week? Not to mention their number 3 who it appeared had 45 possessions and kicked 6 or 7 goals. Western Warrior I suggest you put someone on him instead of our game plan which was to let him run free and do as he pleased.

Thanks for the heads up ol mate, we'll definitely be factoring that into our game plan.....great to see you guys have a good hit out against them and by the sounds of it, it was a reasonable game....I know where definateley looking forward to the challenge and like every other side it'll show where we are at, as they are the yard stick still so hopefully we are up to the challenge.

As for our game against Warnbro, it was a good hard game played in good spirits and was a game of 2 halves....the Swans played the better footy in the first half but weren't able to break away and lead at half time by 3 points.....we were able to start playing our brand of footy in the 3rd qtr and ran away winners by 6 goals, pleasing thing was we kept the Swans to only 1 goal in the 2nd half......1 thing that stood out that showed how tough and fair the game was played was when our Captain had the ball and was streaming through the middle and 1 of the Warnbro players was running straight at him, both big boys and both showed toughness at the contest and collided with one another, the Warnbro guy came off 2nd best but luckily no injuries and managed to play the game out....good old hard fashioned football, great to see!!
