Apologies for the absence lately, gents. I've been a tad busy with work and have also found a way to roll my ankle so have been away from football.

Yikes, E2 thrown in to disarray with allegations of player stacking? That's far too convoluted for our side. We firstly have to deal with the 6-8 changes every week before we go manipulating the system. You'll see some of us have played some Reserves, but that's because there has been a plethora of byes and forfeits for us. Our core group of ~10 players all want to play together, and yes some could play in the League side and most in the Reserves, but we're just around for a kick and to make fun of one another.

Big game for Brentwood as a loss here takes us almost out of finals contention. I won't be there which should boost the chances of a win for us. Also our main ruckman has a broken cheekbone so that won't do us many favours.

I like E2 for the most part. I do get slightly miffed at opposition teams who give it hell in their celebrations and 'rev ups', but I suppose that comes with the territory.

Looking forward to checking the scores first thing on Sunday morning (if I haven't lost my phone from the previous nights drunken antics) and seeing how the round plays out before making my triumphant return the following week.

ps. hot tip is Sydney Swans by 1-39 B) :cheer: ;) :P  :silly:

Well seeing as the forums have been quiet for a few days I'll pipe up.

The game against Coolbinia on the weekend was a close fought affair. They jumped out to a 3 to 1 goal lead at quarter time, only for us to kick 5 straight in the 2nd (I think). In the third we managed to get to a 28 point lead at 3/4 time.

That's when one of our captains (you see, we rotate/don't really have one), got a yellow card at 3/4 time because one of their blokes tackled our guy 1 or 2 seconds after the siren and our guy had a few words to say about it. Wasn't the first push and shove in a heated affair so the ump gave him a yellow. Not too much in it, but we weren't complaining too loudly either.

Didn't really help when our guy was yelling out at 3/4 time "we've got this in the bag" and they came out and kicked the first 3 or 4 goals. We were able to steady with a late one and come away 14 point winners. A few niggles in the game but played in good spirits for most of it - that's just footy and in no way am I complaining.

Back at home this weekend against High Wycombe. Predicting that we keep our slim finals chances alive.

Interesting round of footy this week. Only 1 game between the top 4. Getting tight at the business end of the year. This will make an interesting final series

It's make or break time for the E2 hooligans from Brentwood. Sitting in 6th and 1 game and % behind Noranda we need to win to keep the season alive. Good news is we are playing an in-form Collegians who are 3rd on the ladder and we currently have 16. Our chances have never been better.

We'll play to the very last hoot of the horn and hopefully get the win.

Our previous game against Collegians was my favourite of the year so looking forward to it.

Game on!

CantKickcantHandball i was wandering if there's any chance you guys might be able to pull of the upset of the year this weekend and actually beat top of the table Kingsway?? Was thinking maybe your League/Ressies teams might do you a favour and lend you a few players to get you over the line for a big win and maybe help you guys scrape into the top 5 with an unlikely upset???
The forum has been very quiet lately, will be interesting to see how teams go over the finals and see who is the best team after a long year, hopefully the WAAFL can get the fixtures right next year and organise an even fixture instead of too many forfeits!!

Good luck to everyone.

Hello Old Man,

We need to make up 30% on Noranda, with us facing the top team. It ain't gonna happen! I know that Can'tKickCan'tHandballCan'tMarkCanRun has other ideas though.

Currently got 18 players so tracking better than usual. We are not one to flood the team with league/ressies players, however. 2 reasons for this. 1.) We don't want to and 2.) Those teams struggle with numbers too

I think my proudest achievement this year has been contributing to the thread that has far and away the most replies. Goes to show that E2 really is the pinnacle of WAAFL.
