Whats the big call PH?

I am aware that Sth River has moved to Piara and with it been able to attract players from that area to come and play, which is a good move by the Sth River board considering the ammount of clubs around their old area. Seriously paying reserves thou?

Gosnells would have to be one of the most finanicial club in the WAAFL and the reason is they refuse to pay players. GreatGame is correct last seasons F&B winner as well as a life member have left due to the fact Gosnells wouldnt pay them so they have gone bush. The other player to go bush is a Gosnells Junior but has left before to chase $$.

Doesnt affect me personally, i would be much happier player C1 footy for nothing than playing C3 footy for $50 and a can of export.

Gaz, where did they find you mate, A Mumford and Sons concert?????

You have only ever made 2 posts, let me remind you of what you said in your first one,

i can tell you now it has nothing to do with Money drying up..
it doesnt help with the ammount of sides in the area and when u have a new side like Piara Waters playing blokes to come and play reserves that doesnt help either.

That's the big call champ......

Oh and not sure where you came up with $50.00 in your second post. We don't pay players as we don't have clubrooms or any ways to generate money like the big clubs like Gosnells, and we don't have a liquor licence so we cant sell piss either, so there is no Export on offer

Your more than welcome to come down one night mate and have a look........Who knows like others you might like it

Piara Waters are a new club hence the new name new facilities, staying at Southern River wouldnt have attracted any of these new players hence the history of the club being in low grades, so yes moving will impact clubs like Gossies who for whatever reason have players going to Piara Waters. Like Canning Vale when they started they will have plenty of momentum in the first few years due to the new clubrooms and new housing estates and with the piara juniors will be on the rise and need to make hay while the sun rises. As coach of Piara, premiership hangover is clearly in the position to know whether piara has joined the if you cant beat it join it club, but there does seem to be people spruiking about what they have been offered.

Mumford and sons... Nothing wrong with a Banjo mate..

yep 2 posts, this is number 3, if i reply again thats 4.. i think u get how it works from there..

its not a big call, is called fact.. you see PH when a player askes to leave the club asks why, when they answer they are going to Piara and getting paid well thats what you go off. i am sure Lynwood will be asking the same questions to there players that your trying to take with you.

So the big building on the side of the oval with changeroom, a kitchen, bar and social room isnt apart of the club? or the tank top and trophies as u walk in the door arent meant to be there.. yeah i have been to the club mate, got an Export from there on Saturday (watching cricket)

end of the day i posted on here as you are talking about Gosnells money "drying up", which it hasnt as it never existed. Hense players leaving.. u can bang on all you like that you dont pay players. other clubs are aware that the $$ is mentioned at Piara..

Good luck for the season PH..

Your right Gaz/Rug, you have worn me down and its time to fess up, Also the president told me to be honest......

Yes we are paying everyone at our club a wage. I think its $100.00 and not $50.00 to play reserves and its $500.00 per game to play league. Best player gets $2K per week and we don't charge fees to pay as part of our payment plan.

We are paying the water boys, the boot studders, the kitchen staff, the drunks that want to just come down and have a beer, hell were even paying the kids that turn up and play in the playground

We pay you each week even if your not picked to play a game, so if you want easy money come and register with us, you only have to attend training and not get picked each week and your in line for a payment. As far as training goes, if you rock up and bring a can of Export then your classed as having trained so your going to get paid at the end of the week, just for going to the oval and drinking Export.....

Training is Tuesday and Thursday nights at our oval on the corner of Wright Rd and Nicholson Rd.

We look forward to the next lot of recruits that want to be mercenaries and make easy money at Piara Waters, like the rest of us down there are doing.......

Enjoy your season Gaz, good luck for the year mate

Sarcasm and going over the top probably shows more guilt than anything PH. I can tell you for a fact I know of 2 people that have been offered $$ to play at Piara Waters, 1 is staying for half season then travelling and they still offered him $$, the other went country for even more $$.

Barney, send your mate down, please. The position of club drunk pays well mate.

We offer a 30 pack of Export for Saturdays and a dozen cans of Jacks for each training night. On a cold day/night we also offer a free bottle of Stoney's Green Ginger Mac to put in the beer/Jacks to help keep you warm.

There is one condition to getting this position though mate, the club drunk must promise to pass out at least once on a Saturday and soil their pants while sleeping.

They must abuse everyone when they wake up, and they must upset all the wives and girlfriends each week by spewing on the table where the kids eat after each game, before they get back into the rest of their drinks. Naturally if you drink your 30 pack we can find a sponsor for a second block

If your mate is interested then please send him down, tell him he can bring friends if he likes

King wrote: Yep far to many teams to close together and gosnells are in one of the worst areas with maddington, kenwick ,kelmscott ,piara waters ,canningvale ,lynwoodferndale ,forrestfield ,queenspark these are all pretty much neighbouring suburbs with footy clubs the wasfl dont seem to Care more trams more affiliation feed for them and ive heard the same stuff about the struggles of junior footy. To much school footy and both parents working long hours the kids dont play club footy these days thankgod for a few great volunteers that keep these clubs going picking up car liads of kids for training and games it needsto be looked at from the higher levels or soccer and other sports may take over and it will be sooner not later

King..Queenspark was re-created in 2013. all but 2 players (brad and ziggy) would of played footy in 2013...the other players were encouraged to come back to play footy where they were juniors..we never went poaching and its a credit to blokes who know their local people..community involvement is whats its all about,,,and hay no player or coach gets payed

I think what we have established here lads is that yes, Piara Waters probably are offering hand shandys to attract players this year if any of these posts are correct. You can not have that many rumours going around that are untrue. Especially for a low grade club that don't really have any influence on the comp as a whole. However there are a number of threads on this website regarding the payment of players in amateurs. Unfortunately it seems it is rare to find a club that doesn't offer some kind of financial incentives. I personally totally disagree with it but the league has proven they are happy to turn a blind eye. It is a sad state of affairs for the comp when you have players as low as C3 or C4 getting offered money to play but I do not see a difference between a WAFL ability player getting paid to play A or B grade than a C1 grade player getting paid to play C3 or C4. I imagine all clubs are prob working harder to get more sponsors to be able to be competitive?
