What the hell is going on when a player gets suspended for 2 seasons for a push and shove?

Only heard the whispers but this dispute has been going on for years.
I think they where suspended for the comedy act that they put on.
Also heard they where suspended for x amount of weeks which in vets makes it twice as long as you only play once a fortnight.

Yes even in vet's footy ego's take over unfortunately, heard though that the wording "push and shove" may have been underselling what actually happened.........there is some footage somewhere apparently, there was to be a meeting the other night but I haven't heard any outcome...

Many moons ago in SFL GF one of the cobatants here who got white line fever real bad, kept whacking John Begg who was playing with cracked ribs, so the Maddington coach took Begg off and put on a big young buck (who went onto play league at Perth). The next time Maddington had a shot at goals, said Maddo player whacked him, whilst everyone was watching shot go through for a point. It was only after he did not get back to have the kick did anyone realise anything had happened, By this time Maddo player was half way back to the interchange bench. Give the Roo is credit though, tough as nails and was back in the frey a few minutes later.

You knew you had played when you played against Wanneroo, just ask Peter Busustow, they had a few physco's out there, who would whack you if you just looked at them

So...... In other words, cheap shot and then ran away to the bench?

I was at that game. My recollection is that it was one of the twin sons of the Maddington coach who kept getting whacked. The son was taken off and another player was sent out to even the score. After doing the job, he came off the ground straight away. I remember watching him go in the ground and deliver the hit. Watched him from the moment he ran onto the oval.

No the cheap shots was the Wanneroo player whacking John Begg off the ball all day prior to the "Square Up" Pretty sure he was acting on instructions, and going back to the bench was not his decision.
