I know it's early days but from what I've seen of the Raiders I reckon they are going to surprise a few.

Had the pleasure of heading back to the Kennel yesterday for our practice games v. Brentwood.

VERY IMPRESSED.

I'd suggest their league is maybe 20% better than last year - minimum. Have picked up another quality ruckman and their forward line is lightening quick. They also kick straight.

They maybe stretched in depth is they cop some injuries; and this is probably what they'll have to watch. Looked like they have a couple of injuries already as a few boys missing.

Disappointing that the League game wasn't as close as promised after the numbers and squad from the week before - we had big numbers missing (then late???) which was disappointing; but Brentwood certainly played well.

Haven't seen the other sides but given the ease with which c4 sides have moved into c3 i'd tip Brentwood to be up top all year.

Cheers Dickkyboy, we have been working very hard down at the kennel and great to see some reward for effort, although we are all aware of how much work it takes to sustain momentum for a whole season and we are well aware it is only pre season, all starts for real this week end and we look forward to the challenge! And I am aware of the hard work needed to try and get in the league squad, which will only be good for the club as the list of names waiting for a chance is getting longer which will hopefully help our depth.

Also thanks for the lesson in feigning for frees, you are absolutley right, there was no need to have a hand any where near you and that is a lesson I will keep with me for some time ;) just go back and take the shot on goal!

On the jets you guys definatley have the cattle, and not being silly, but from what I saw it comes down to work rate, not trying to have a dig, but if you could take one piece of constructive crtisism it is that soeem of your boys need to lift their work rate, especially some of the lazy forwards, many times hands on hips spectating which made it easier for our defenders to run off and attack, or for some of us to stand next to them after playing a game earlier!

Sorry didnt get to have a beer with you, good luck to your boys for the rest of the year!

You are right... Not really sure what was going on on the weekend. Our players didn't seem interested - Colts were flying. Reserves were lazy until a rocket was fired at 1/2 time - then good. And League ??? A heap didn't show up - A bunch were late. And we probably were playing bruise free footy the rest of the time (game was probably 1 week too late with the season starting this week).

Oh well - looking forward to the serious stuff this week. Good luck to your boys!

Yeah mate - sorry - I had to go in the end. My little bloke was sick and mum needed some respite.

Good luck for the season and I'm sure I'II catch you at some stage.
