Completely agree with you Maggies and I'm not even in one of the C grades.

now we've established the grade name, any predictions from anyone or scratchy results? I know we would all be biased towards our own sides but from what I've heard/seen of the teams it could be a very competitive grade.

What happened to your colts Clarkson? I think any teams that don't have a colts could struggle as they just don't have the depth in numbers and quality coming through.

I agree Clackson, will be a very competitive grade and even good teams may miss finals this year.

i know Brentwood and swan view would be thinking finals, and i dare say the two teams that came down from C2 will be thinking finals, add that to teh other three teams that made finals last year and we already need to squeeze 7 into 5, plus those who just missed out last year looking to improve.

I think it is going to be a very long year for any teams who think they are going for a lazy kick in E grade....

Can anyone here explain why the WAAFL got rid of the old system and went to the C1,C2 etc format ??? I can't think of a valid reason other than to appease the egos of the Sunday League teams when they came across.

was the usual colts age issues i think. a few left, a few dropped off everyone's radar,a lot are too old and are into the seniors now. the junior club is strong and a few of their players played colts last year and seemed to enjoy it, so we are hoping it's only 1 year without them. we gave them as long as we could but there just wasn't the numbers

I don't think it was just the Sunday league clubs, cutting the two team clubs off at C means that everyone knows D grade is for A/B grade thirds and fourths and the E grades are for lower team thirds and single team clubs. otherwise a J grade side could become an F grade side just by adding reserves while the H grade premiers stay in H grade

Maybe so but it also shows I know the alphabet. If you want to tell your mate you play in C3 instead of E grade because it is less embarrassing then go for it.
Maybe I should tell my mates who play F grade cricket that they should start saying they play in C4 or maybe even B5 or A6 has a better ring to it.
