Colts
Canningvale 16.7.103 def Mosman Park 4.7.31
As with lots of the Cougar Cubs games this year, it was a game of two halves. First half was relatively even and there was only two goals in it at the main break. Second half saw the cubs turn it on and kick 10-goals to 0.. We had a few out forcing 5-guys that were supposed to play League only this week play Colts as well - although they all played very limited time in this game. Mosman Park Colts really lacked depth but had a few good players.

Reserves
Canningvale 3.2.20 def by Mosman Park 17.14.116
Another long day for our twos - they showed lots of heart but again out gunned by a bigger stronger and more experienced Mossie Park side. I noticed that from the first game 4/5 Mossie Park players playing in the two's that played League in Round 3.

League
Canningvale 11.15.82 def by Mosman Park 14.11.95
The one that got away for us - more scoring shots and losing the game! Cracking game of footy to end the day though, after an even first term, Mosman Park pretty much had a 2/3 goal lead all day. A hard, tough and fast game of footy at the den, which made great viewing for the fans that came from both the Vale and Mossie Park. We had all the play in the last term and only managed to kick 3.7 - I personally kicked 1.4 in the last term (4.7 for the day) and pretty much cost us the game. Couple of VERY iffy goal-umpiring decisions went against us which hurt but overall Mossie Park used the ball better and deserved the win and their 8th on the trot! Again, a great game to be involved in! Appreciated the Mossie Park guys that stuck around for a beer as well. We have to pull our fingers out now and produce 4-quarters of good footy each week as the battle for spots in the five heat up.

Would be interested to hearing the reports on the other games, in particular the Basso/Quinns game... Couple of blow outs as well.
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

Spoke to a player from Bassendean last night and he said that the margin was around 15 points, so not to sure of the showing scores .apparently Basso were very good and played the better football for most of the day. They still had a couple if players out as well, so maybe they will
Be serious players come finals. A side note that when Quinns are under pressure they apparently become very much man focused , behind the play also. But it sounds like it was a high class game .

What a load of rubbish ^^. I went down to that game knowing
It will be a good one and my it was. The pressure came on bass
Late in the 2nd And basso came out swinging after the half
Time break Hittin hard on and off the ball and the crowd where as bad
Calling the players c***s and all sorts of names. Basso where very good
And was there best game by far but where the ones going for the man not the
Ball after the half time giving away a few frees to quinns . Quinns showed they
have what it takes to not Give up and keep going against a hard fighting team
and got the job done By 3 goals and look dangerous for finals footy
Great game lots of banter and a few tussles but good football and finals
Are coming and it's bound to happen. Will be a great grand
Final if bass can keep it up and they play each other.

Footy, you hit the nail on the head mate.

It was a good hard game of footy and that's to be expected heading towards the finals.

Not really going to make any comments about the physicality of the game, but lets just say no cards were handed out, which just shows it was a good hard game.

Well done to basso for putting up a good fight.

Assuming then, the 1/4 by 1/4 scores are wrong?

Also, good to hear it was a good, hard game out at Quinns. Though 25 scoring shots to 14 I just noticed... bit more one sided or Quinns just inaccurate due to pressure?

LAG I noticed you named 25 colts in your team list. If you did indeed have 25 why wouldn't you just play with 20/21 against a lowly team and have 22 fresh league players mentally preparing for 1 game. It seems from afar that your clubs constant doubling up is having a big affect on the league teams performance and therefor putting a finals appearance in jeopardy. The league team does want to play finals don't they??

Colts
numbers are our big killer at training and on game day, one week we have plenty and the next we struggle to 17. but thats how it is at the moment i suppose. lack of numbers, game fitness and general team cohesion make winning games extremely hard. not taking away from Manning colts who were streaks ahead on the day. i'm not one to complain about umpires i believe they do their best but i'll bring up one decision just because i'm curious about the responses.

before the game we agreed with Manning that we would play our boundary ump(he's a junior and usually does our boundary) and play without and if the ball went out our nearest player would throw it in, well a Manning player kicked the ball out on the full on what would've been our boundary side it went out far enough that it hit some chairs. the ump called it to be a throw in, and when the manning supporters said it was on the full he yelled back something along the lines of "maybe next time you will provide a boundary" (i think he thought they were our supporters our shirts are fairly similiar) is this a rule? if theres no boundary there is no out on the full?

Reserves
for once we had excess numbers in our reserves squad a few very handy ins who'd been working away or had other commitments. it was an entertaining match to watch with some jawing from both sides and a few pushes and shoves. in the half i saw the game was played alot closer than the score suggested. our forward forrays hitting at a higher percentage. i think the lack of a bench blew the lead out in the end as their players tired.

League
to mannings credit a lot of them didn't stop attacking the contest the whole day even as it became apparant the game was out of reach, they do have some very good players and if they continue to build around them they'll be back up and about in no time. our innaccuracy in front of goal again came through but luckily this was in a game where it didn't do us any damage. our structures did start to fall away towards the end of the game as players looked to get themselves goals instead of passing to the better option. there isn't too much to say about the way the game went the scoreboard tells that pretty well.

I agree, we should.. but lack of numbers mean we have to play these guys in the Colts. As mentioned, there were at least 5-guys who played very limited game time in the Colts - pretty much sat on the bench (One guy played a total of about 10-minutes)

Good to see there have still been no dramas in the C2 comp. a few more issues in lower and higher grades with games being called off. So well done to all team and clubs involved !!

Onto the results, Mosman park are flying!! Have they started to get players back? Or starting to gel?
LAG who were mossies better players?

Canning continue to coast along!! They have class all around the ground! Dingo who stood out for them?

And quinns and basso game seemed to be a tough one! Footy and Dof bull who were the better players for basso?
Maggies im guessing ur from basso because u are always writing about them, so who were quinns better players? What makes them unbeatable at this point?
