premiership hangover wrote: Easy Kirbs, I didnt predict anything, however I can tell you that in C1 we do get a grade umpires from time to time and its hell on the field, they umpire to the letter of the rules in the afl, and when you have had association umpires differently all year it takes time to adjust to the way the higher skilled umpires are following the rules.

But if you want a prediction Kirbs ill look into my magic ball on my desk and this is what it tells me........ it doesnt matter how many umpires you have and how experienced they are, if one club or both want to start trouble you can be guaranteed that trouble will start.

Good PH, who do you predict will win, the game I mean, because the players would have to be real dumb to play up this week.

You just nailed it, real dumb!

premiership hangover wrote: That will be funny major, you will either get to muppets that are worse than club umpires, or two blokes that think they are AFL umpires, which will make it hard for the players if they are calling rules that havent been called all year.

Good luck to both clubs,

Anyone would be a fool to underestimate the umpires who will be running this game!!
PH the rules are the rules just because the club muppets don't call all the frees is not an excuse because come finals you can bet your arse they will be called so might as well get a taste now!!

Sometimes Major the words that come outta u make a lot of sense. Us players tend to get used to club umpires who try and or try not to offend with their decision making. Having umps that adjudicate by the rules as they are taught and practice doing can be a harrowing & sometimes humbling experience for us amateur level footballers. Tried my hand at joining the umpiring ranks a few years back and found I had to re-learn the game. It looks and feels different when you have to analyse every little contest whilst concentrating with regards to ur position and then having the peripheral vision to make sure nothing untoward is happening behind play. I hated it, it took all of the fun I had as a player outta the game for me and didn't pursue it past the pre season. My point here is as players we all think we know how to umpire but the truth is it takes a lot more than having played the game to be a good umpire. As players we all break the rules a little to gain advantage and occasionally the good umps catch us out... we conveniently tend to forget this.

Dirty weekender - possibly the best statement ever written on this whiny web page. I for one would not have the patience to umpire when retirement looms. Umpires make two types of decisions. Those for clean acts (marks, good tackles etc). The latter for PLAYER MISTKES (high tackles, push in back etc). Players forget that 90% of umpire decisions are made from player mistakes. Dont blame the umpires, blame the players!! :woohoo:

Yeah mate, they were once a quality outfit with some very handy players.
They got relegated in 2002 from memory and slid further ever since

Nollamara were one of the power teams in A grade in the 1980s winning an A grade premiership in 1980 and a B grade premiership in 2000.

Nollamara still have an exceptional football team with a lot of big name ex wafl players playing for them . They just have some discipline problems and from all reports on here they have always had those problems which just goes with the area they're in. They looked like a pretty well run club with a lot helpers and some big functions happening at their club.
