Well I may aswell get the ball kickin here!

Mossie Park boys got up by 7 goals over the valley!
Canning too strong for kenwick in there 8 goal victory! ( how did the Hanson boys clarko?)
Canningvale with an easy 20 goal win over manning!
Basso knocked of Snesa by 8 goals.
And the big game we had all been waiting for, Quinns pulled down Warnbro pants smacked them black n blue before winning by a comfortable 13 goals. ( did Warnbro show up? )

went down to watch the GOTR at warnbro (very good ground and rooms).
what a game tough and fair the whole game. quinns played some great football and should have won by
more if they converted more. 9-0 to quinns beating everyone in the comp. see if they can keep going.
to warnbro they played some fierce football and hit hard and never let there heads down still attacking till the end. i noticed quinns wingman was watching on the sidelines clearly upset he couldnt be out there wearing his jersey. anyone no whats wrong with him and how long hes out they will miss him. i heard a rumour he's going to clarmont at the back end of the year, maybe thats why hes sitting out so he can play for them. anyway what a great game from both sides and ill keep watching quinns as im very interested in the way they are going this year and there turn around not looking forward to vs them in a couple weeks.

Broken ribs - from a cheap knee to a bloke at the bottom of the pack last week. doubt he is going to Claremont, he committed to the cause, history with West Perth plus distance

Well clearly Quinns are the team to beat. May have both hands on the cup already . Take them out of the comp and it would be very very even. Only seen the one game Quinns have played and it is nice to get some feedback on how they go. Any other comments on the game from the weekend?? Always thought Quinns would of been to strong for Warnbro unless Warnbro's ump was officiating, he is a shocker!!

they all got on the scoreboard in the League Curtis kicked about 4 Jarvis 2 and Dylan got the 1. I think Jarvis was the most active round the ground.

I didn't get to the Colts game because I was an emergency for the reserves game and would've only got to see 1 quarter if i went up to swan view. from what the people who watched said our boys played well for the first half and a bit of the third then ran out of legs. hopefully Mad dog can elaborate more.

Reserves
the reserves game seemed closer around the ground than the scoreboard suggested but cannings defence was strangling i don't think we had a goal till halftime with them piling them on. they had very efficient movement around the ground and where probably one of the better reserves squads i've watched play. it seems both our senior teams need to find more ways to attack as the turnovers on the half forward line killed both teams.

League
the first quarter of the League was even on the scoreboard with us letting them score a couple late. they seemed to lock down in the second and even though our defense was holding their own you can't stop them all and when the ball is continually getting pumped in a few are going to go through. this was basically the story for the game. cannings big forwards were surprisingly mobile and got around the ground very well. number 20 and 23 both taking strong grabs, one when I swear I got a full punch on the ball but it didn't move out of his grip. then they threw their ruckman down forward and we had noone even close to his size down back so ended up having to throw our spare ruck to full back to cover him. there will be a few sore bodies after the encounter I know i'm feeling it and look forward to them coming back to our patch the last game. i did like their bar though $6 CC & Drys thats half the price i payed later on.

i'm surprised Quinns won by that much i know they are good but i thought Warnbro would at least put up a challenge.

I think you might have the wrong bloke....Warnbros umpire is usually good (i might be a bit biased)and I thought he was on the weekend too...if he has a fault it is letting things go too much (both ways) which isn't a bad thing? Interested what Quinns thought?

agree with the earlier comments about the game....hard and fair and despite playing like dogs Warnbro were only down by a few at half time...if good enough could have made a go of it, but Quinns were too strong and deserved their big win.

Mate, from my point of view, I think the Warnbro umpire did a good job, one of the better umpires this year and for a young guy it was good to see.

I agree with Queens town, maybe he did lets things go a bit too long, but he was very consistent which is all you can ask for.

Half way point of the season - Quinns are clearly the team to beat. For me, Canning and Warnbro 2nd and 3rd. Mosman Park have now won 5 on the trot whilst Bassendean continue the roller coaster ride. SNESA have dropped off after a good start and down the bottom the relegation fight is on between the Valley, Kenwick and Manning.

Second Annual CVSFC Ladies Day at the Den on Saturday was a hit. Many sore heads on the Sunday morning I am guessing. Was great to see the Manning players staying back for a beer or three as well.

Colts
Canningvale 11.9.75 def Manning 2.3.15
A game of two halves. Manning only down by a goal at half time showing that if they had numbers they would press the better sides in the comp. Unfortunately, they didn't score in the second half. We had a 'goodish' side on the park, still had 6/7 Colts play just League for the weekend, which is a great sign for our future. Currently sitting 2nd on the ladder with a 7-2 record. Swan View the team to beat.

Reserves
Canningvale 6.5.31 lost to Manning 13.13.91
Our two's REALLY wanted this one. Still win-less at the half way stage. Had a couple of blokes come out of retirement for this game (to show off in front of the ladies I am sure) but I have been told Manning had 5/6 of the same types. Our Ressies sitting last on the ladder which is a shame after last year's finals appearance. They will keep fighting.

League
Canningvale 23.18.156 def Manning 3.3.21
After three consecutive losses for us, it was good to get a win on the board. First time in the club history we had lost 3 on the trot and we don't intend that to happen again. Manning obviously struggling. I didn't get to watch much of the game when working on the bar - (keeping the ladies adequately 'quenched'!) Have been told we started to play the footy that had got us in this grade in the first place. Still have Colts doubling up and are at a guess 4/5 players away from full strength. Was good to have a beer with fellow injured forward from Manning as well. Currently sitting 4th on the ladder (6-3) in our first season of C2 - will take that any day of the week. Have the 5-teams below us in the next 5-rounds so it would be nice to get on a roll before we fact the top 3 sides again.
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

Interesting that you have 6-7 colts playing just league and a few more doubling up which would bring the number to roughly 10. Good on them for doing so. Could be some tough calls come finals time, won't want to be doubling up then.

1st up Clarko, great effort by Kenwick Colts boys to get a team on the park!! Its never easy when you colts dont follow your League as we have to do every fortnight. The boys should be commended and hopefully they can see the season out. If they come with the same attitude to the rest of the games I'm sure they'll get a win or 2.
The game itself, for us was a shocker. Our boys ,albeit missing a few, didn't rock up with the right mindset and it was extremely hard to watch. In the 1st half we did what was required but let your boys stay in touch with bad skill errors and the Kenwick lads were good enough to make us pay and never gave up. At half time you would've though the ladder positions were reversed.
After half time the young Viewers stepped it up a bit and came away with the 4 points and that's about as much as we can take from the game.
Big game against Bazzo next week who are the only team to knock us off.
