A week off to freshen up and it’s back into the action. Noranda tighten their grip on flag favoritism while Armadale and Belmont need to find a way out of the relegation zone. A few no tippers this round spread the ladder a bit……

Carlisle (2nd) v Cockburn Lakes (4th) @ Carlisle Reserve
Game of the round. Carlisle had a 7 goal reality check in the top of the table clash against Noranda but have had 2 weeks to iron out any little wrinkles. They are still the stingiest defence in the league after facing the highest scorers and this week will need to hold firm against the 3rd highest scoring side. Cockburn had the expected win against Armadale but were a bit wasteful in front of goal. They have had a fortnight to focus on how to beat Carlisle so it will be interesting to see how this pans out. With both sides level on points, this is such an important game.
Carlisle to win.
Noranda (1st) v Dianella Morley (5th) @ Lightning Park
Dianella dropped back into the chasing pack with their 2nd consecutive loss and face the real prospect of dropping out of the 5 this week. They’ll have to regain some of their early season form to get anywhere near the Hawk juggernaut. Noranda are going from strength to strength as the season progresses and have taken top stop after disposing of Carlisle. They are now a game clear and won’t drop this one.
Noranda to win.
Nollamara (6th) v Ballajura (7th) @ Des Penman Reserve
Nollamara regained their mojo and took care of Dianella while Ballajura powered over top of Belmont. Nolla are half a game out of the 5 and Balla are 1 game – this is crucial for both their seasons and it should be a cracker of a game. The bigger oval and the run of the Cougars might trouble the Royals and could be the deciding factor here.
Nollamara to win.
Belmont (10th) v East Fremantle (8th) @ Forster Park
After a miserable first 7 rounds, Belmont will be looking forward to this week and the following with winnable games looming. It may not be much of a silver lining but you can expect them to give a good showing this week. East Freo were competitive on the weekend and have plenty of classy players sprinkled across the field. They know a win here will push them 1 game further away from relegation.
East Fremantle to win.
Ellenbrook (3th) v Armadale (9th) @ Coolamon Oval
Armadale pushed finals bound Cockburn on the weekend and will be looking at taking a scalp this weekend. They haven’t had a win yet but would be desperate to claim 4 points this weekend. The Eels won’t underestimate the Demons with a few close games including a draw over the last couple of years and we know they’ll fight hard to the end – you only have to look at the way the beat Canningvale last year. Should be a good game.
Ellenbrook to win.
