It will be important that the G7 clubs work together to smash the eagles and dockers aligned clubs. They need to raise the bar including targeting players within the rules. Physically damaging the brand on and off the field will increase the competitiveness of the G7 and reduce the impact of the EP eagles and Peel dockers.

Brad Hill and Jordan Lockyer were recruited from the Falcons just two seasons ago-they go allright in the draft stakes

What is important for next year and ensuing years is that the G7 clubs stick together and ABSOLUTELY refuse to cooperate with the the devils incarnate and their subservient WAFL clubs. This should include absolutely no access to practice matches for their players prior to the commencement of the season and during the season. No more flexibility with respect to players playing in another reserves' club's team so they can get some match fitness.

Also, the scoreboards should reflect the correct nature of the teams playing. That is, the names to be used should be Dockers and Eagles rather than Peel and East Perth respectively.

Thats a pipedream Swan42, The WAFL clubs sticking together lol - collectively and individually they have the hearts the size of peas and about as much power.

Despite all the bluster, in the end at least 4 clubs broke ranks over the host club offer, Subi Perth East Perth and Peel all wanting part of it.

How do you know that bazza? I'm not saying you're wrong but I'd be interested to know your source given I've not heard anything about Subi wanting to get on-board. I recall randall saying let's see the detail of stand alone reserves sides for WCE and Dockers but not the alignment model.

Hard truth to it is that not all clubs in the "G7" will survive financially. Lets face the fact Swans are lucky to be around. Broke twice in the last 10 years.

It will get down to 4 to 6 clubs including the two reserves.

SANFL ‏@SANFLnews 1h
The #SANFL League Directors have voted in favour of an @Adelaide_FC reserves team joining the competition in 2014.

Reserves team.. Shit is that good news or what? What about Port ADELAIDE? Surely they will want one as well. How will that work will the Port guys still play with the their host clubs?
But beware SANFL it is only the first step. Will have to read more on this but we have enough problems in the West :(

Apparently up to the Port Adelaide board. If they vote in favour of SANFL reserves, it effectively winds up the Port Magpies according to ABC reports.

It will be interesting to see if David Koch weighs into this one as he proclaimed to be a Port man of old.

Very said situation for a proud old club. Their past and future on the line for the sake of an extended VFL side.

When you sell your soul to the Devil (AFL), things come back to haunt you like now for Port Adelaide, similar for the WAFL with there Psuedo alignment policy
